KT is an amazing school with excellent nurturing teachers and a play based learning philosophy. As a previous elementary teacher, I feel that KT was the best fit for my children because of the interactive nature and developmentally appropriate lessons and activites taught in class. I also enjoyed the cooperative aspect of the school. Being involved in KT and helping the teachers and other parents run a school has made an huge impact on our family. Not only do I know what and how my kids are learning but we are teaching our children a valuable lesson about volunteering and helping others and we have made so many close friends in the process. The class sizes are small and feel that my children receive plenty of one on one time with each teacher. My family will always remember our experience at KT as wonderful and positive! We love KT!

As a current parent and an alumnae parent, I absolutely believe that the preparation the children receive with the "learning through play" curriculum has them absolutely ready for all the challenges of Kindergarten and beyond. The teachers are amazing- kind, compassionate, and have a rapport with the children that is unequalled in my experience. The parental involvement is one of the things that makes the school so special. The children really enjoy their special "helper" days, and parents can choose their level of participation with the other committees.

This is a fantastic school for parents who want to be involved in the early education experience. This school provides the opportunity to meet and work with other parents who also want to be involved in their child's first experiences in school. The teachers are fantastic! This is not the school for families who want to drop and leave. This is not daycare. This is a preschool experience for the family and we have enjoyed the co-op experience. We have made life long friends with other families who share the same vision of teaching our children to help others and work together.

The teachers are kind and sweet though rigid at times. Crafts follow a formula and their is not a lot of room for resourcefulness or creativity in the crafts, games and discussions. The school expects a great deal of parent involvement both in the classroom and outside the classroom. Experiences for the parents varies and can be wonderful but is based upon what parents rise to the top of various committees. Class sizes tend to be very large.

We could not be more pleased with Katrina Trask Nursery School. The teachers are absolutely fabulous. As two parents with Masters in Education from Columbia University, we could not be happier with this preschool. It is socially, emotionally, and 'academically' perfect to bring out the best in your child. KT will love your child, be patient, understanding, and plant a love of school into the soul of your child...Thank you KT!
