I was new to the Bronx and was looking for a good pre school for my daughter, Amalgamated nursery school fit perfectly for her as it was close and was a private school with a wonderful universal pre- K program, I enrolled my daughter for a 3's program and gradually the next year she went on to the UPK program. My daughter got a 99 percentile and moved on to a wonderful gifted and talented program in the city, Amalgamated nursery school kids do well in the G and T program and to my knowledge there were many children in my daughter class who got >97 percentile in G and T. I highly recommend this nursery school to anyone interested in quality preschool education for their children.

Amalgamated Nursery School is such a good school. My son just finished pre-K and had a truly wonderful year. The teachers and staff are smart and caring. The program helps each child grow and develop creatively, socially and academically. They get to watch eggs hatch into ducks, tadpoles grow into frogs and caterpillars change into butterflies. The class pets change and grow just as the children who watch them do as well. There are great class trips that highlight areas of the curriculum and that indeed make learning fun. The neighborhood is a lovely tree-lined, park-filled area of the Bronx. Although, most of the children who attend Amalgamated are from the immediate area, we were not, but were made to feel quite welcome. I only wish they had a kindergarten program because my son does not want to leave.

Amalgamated Nursery School is a wonderful preschool serving the local Amalgamated/Park Reservoir neighborhood. It's a parent cooperative school so parents are very involved in the school from fundraising to maintenance and housekeeping. The teachers are very good with the children and provide very good feedback on anything concerning your child. All the teachers, teacher's assistants, and director really care about the children and the school. Take the opportunity to visit the school and see for yourself. My son is attending PreKindergarten there and I only have good things to say about his experience there.
