This is not a school I would ever recommend to anyone. My child had a very negative experience here. The entire staff from the directors to the teachers are not child advocates at all. They only care about themselves. They are friendly to your face and then behind your back they treat your children very poorly. They have no patience and have no idea how to treat 3 year olds.
It is a safe and nourishing environment for small children just beginning a school. There are a lot of arts and crafts that combines with learning lessons. The children learn through fun activities. Teachers like Ms. Cindy, Ms. Ginger, Ms. Racquel, Ms. Tanya, Ms. Jenn and Ms Kathy all possess great teaching qualities, such as patience and a love for their children. Overall, I am satisfied with the teachers and preschool program at the Cross Island Y.
The YMCA pre k program is excellent. Ms. Jen and Ms. Kathy teach the children through creative and interactive play. Each center promotes imaginative play. Its been a great experience for my son!
Excellent and challenging program. Promotes child independance and encourages children to do things for themselves; and of course if a child needs help there is always a helping hand. Includes a swim program which is a plus!
Definitely not the Cross Island YMCA..Very poor system. They treat Preschoolers like Adults not like kids.
