Very sad that a parent would come on and rate this school poorly twice. It is obvious by their use of HORRIBLE in all caps in both postings weeks apart. I was a parent that was a part of this very small school community at this time. Often parents anger is misdirected when they are told that because they didn't have the time to teach their children basic things at home and no time to reinforce what they learned at school in 2 hours, they are not ready for kindergarten.
Horrible teachers. Unfriendly, RUDE and uncaring. My child was treated terribly. I don't even know if its because they don't like their job or don't like me or don't like my kid.... EVERY SINGLE DAY was some new complaint with these RUDE employees.. They didn't teach, they celebrated bdays, holidays and did show and tell. Mind you its only 2 1/2 hrs twice a week and I felt like I was being told to do everything!! What am I paying them for ?? TEACHERS WERE RUDE AND UNCARING.. DONT GO.. BEWARE!!! SAVE YOUR CHILD THE HEARTACHE..
It's hard to read anything except the good things written about this "gem" of a school! This is our fifth year attending Chestnut Hill amongst my 3 children. 2 out of the 3 have graduated and done beautifully in grade school thus far. The teachers here are very educated and have a lot of experience with preschool age children, which allows them to know what to expect from them. Also, they follow the kingergarten curriculum for the Toms River Schools which makes the transition from preschool to K super easy for them!! They incorporate just the right amount of play time and socializing...which is very important for this young age group!! I say enough about this school!!! Send your kids there without hesitation!!!
I love this school. The staff is so caring and warm. My son had a wonderful experience this past year. He learned something new every day he was in school. His teachers took a vested interested in him as an individual and realized each child learns differently. I am so glad I chose this school, they more then prepared my son for Kindergarten.
This school is HORRIBLE! Instead of the focus on education there is a strong focus on social skills. The students spend the first half of the year celebrating holidays with monthly parties. They do not even begin to learn letters or numbers until January. Once they do begin this unit only one class is spent on the letter or number. Children do not even begin writing their names until April. There is also little to no help with writing skills as well. By May children are no longer "learning" and spend the last few weeks working on "social events" once again. This school DOES NOT prepare your child for kindergarten. I am an education major and preK teacher else where and I REGRET sending my child to this school. Not to mention the staff is extremely rude! HORRIBLE!! Do not be fooled by the packet given when looking at the school they do not enforce it!
