My daughter just finished almost four years at Meadow in September. On her last day, I was truly overcome with emotion as we said goodbye.
When she started, our initial trepidation at choosing daycare at all quickly subsided as we became familiar with the wonderful staff and curriculum at Meadow. Our daughter was always so engaged and really learned all the right things. They let her be a kid and express her creativity. She was happy to get there in the morning and sad to leave at the end of the day. Knowing how much she loved it, and how well-cared for she was while there, was very important to us.
The family-run environment is clear in the culture; the staff is always smiling!
Because of her time there, our daughter is already excelling at kindergarten. We can't thank the Meadow team enough for helping to provide such a nurturing head-start in life.
I have two kids here and I love it. My oldest was in daycare in the city until she was 2 and this is so much better. The kids have lots of space to play, there is a range of activities, and the facility is huge. It is a family-run place, which I like. The teachers are great and really focus on each kid, that I can see. They seem to have a blend of approaches--they aren't too rigid like some other daycare chains we visited in the area, and they aren't full-on crunchy, but there is a creative vibe to the place. They do a lot of special activities, like the Halloween parade around the building parking lot where kids trick or treat from parents who decorate their cars. There are a few field trips, and they do learn different things each week, and they teach lots of life skills (table manners, basic hygiene, etc). They have 3 different infant rooms by age group, so as your baby gets more mobile, they can be in an appropriate environment. Any school with a lot of kids means that colds can strike frequently, so they do a good job of minimizing that, but the only way to truly reduce that is to go to a tiny daycare, I think.
My daughter has been going to this school for 2.5 years. I toured many schools in the neighbourhood. Initially I sent her to Rainbow Academy right across the street, since they have the online video. It was horrible experience at Rainbow. The director and the teachers were so cold and rude. My daughter got sick immediately. I pulled her out on the 3rd day and switched to Meadows later. It was the best decision I ever made in my life! The teachers at Meadow are so nice, warm, and caring. They treat your children like their own. All the kids are very happy. They also learn a lot. My duaghter loves the school, the teachers and friends. I strongly recommend it to everyone!
We have been with the school for a while. The rooms we have been to are good. Every group is in a separate room. Toys etc are nice. Parents are as involved as parents choose to be. Reports about sickness if there is any is on the front door. So no surprises there. Nannies in the baby room right now are very good people! You will be happy if you have a baby. Sometimes when I walk in I see more than 4 children with 1 teacher. (never in baby room) Usulaly it is teacher's fault who is talking in the hall. Let the director know every time. There is one teacher I am not comfortable with - a young male, who looks like he is in a La-la land all the time. He sits in the play ground and stares into space instead of watching kids. I would not trust him my child who will move to a different school to skip this teacher.
My older daughter started at Meadows school when she was 1.5 years old and is soon to be 5. She has done great here in the past 3 years. The school is wonderful with caring and considerate teachers and a very nice facility. I just started my younger daughter who is 2 at this school and she is doing great already.I would recommend this school to my friends in a heartbeat.
I sent my daughter to this daycare when she was almost 2 years old. It has been 4 months and I am very pleased with the experience. My daughter didn't understand any English when she started however the teachers were very patient and caring. Now she picks up the language very well and is happy in the school every day. Everytime I asked her if she likes her school she always says yes. And as a 2 years old, they do more activities than I expected. Every week they will come home with at least one art/craft. The facility is excellent and tuition is reasonable comparing to other brand-name daycares in that area. Lunch is included in the tuition. The menu looks healthy and my daughter is home well fed each day and she ate better than at home. I just like this school!
I interviewed and toured many many daycares from sussex county down to bergen county and have nothing but great things to say about the staff, owners, teachers and care givers at the Meadows School. My daughter has been attending since she was 8 months old...she is now 2 years old and absolutely thrives in school. They have a great program, beautiful, bright and clean facility where parents each have their own entry code and can enter at anytime (no waiting for someone to answer a door bell). Fantastic indoor and outdoor play areas and most importantly a truly caring and loving staff. Teachers/care givers provide great feedback on what happens daily in each childs life and the owners are always accessible to talk to. Parents are welcomed to stop by anytime. I highly recommend the Meadows School.
