This is an awesome school for children and parents alike. My son and daughter both attended so I've had the benefit of seeing the school change and grow over the past four years under different staff and parent leadership. There are some really exciting things coming up for the 2010-11 school year, including a new director, a new kindergarten enrichment program, extended care and new family events. Some people may view the co-oping approach as a burden or a way to keep the tuition low; these people totally miss the point. Co-oping in your child's school is a privilege IMHO. You will never have the chance to have such an intimate view of how your child interacts with teachers, classmates and other parents. Believe you me, you'll go into withdraw once your child reaches kindergarten. I really miss those days and the supportive parents network that forms each year.

I've had one child go all the way through this school and another who is in the 3s. I am so happy I chose this school. I was new to the area when my daughter started pre-school and I've found the sense of 'community' is very strong at this school compared to what I've observed with some of the other preschools in Ridgewood. I was initially worried what a co-op meant as far as time commitment but discovered that beyond the participation in the classroom it's similar to the other preschools. The parents 'co-op' in their child's classroom once or twice a month (the classes are 2 1/2 hours long) and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. Being able to see your child interact with their teacher and friends and to be a part of the school day is a great experience...they grow up so fast!
