My son is graduating LGA this year and I can't say enough about the staff and the director who has always been very eager to accomodate my requests. The school is very clean, organized and structured. The curriculum is wonderful and every one of the teachers that I've experienced, my son has been crazy about. It's been extremely easy to have a career and know that my child is happy all day. My experience has been Stellar!
Considering this school. Location is great & after a brief tour & a random drop in it's at the top of the list. Staff seemed nice, certified in CPR & some with teaching degrees/certificates. They are not NAEYC cert. but offer the same learn through play that Edgar does. Well-lit, colorful & the rooms were big & filled with activity corners. Indoor room for dance/gym & outside seems safe. After 3pm the teachers leave & assistants come in, some are HS students, this doesn t concern me much, I did the same job and other centers in the area like Edgar at the Y do the same. Other reviews say teacher turnover rate is high, but that happens everywhere. They ask for 2wks notice but like with any job not everyone does this. During 2 visits there was no director present- concern. To hold a spot we'd have to pay the fee & give a 1/2month deposit which we would ONLY get back with a 30day notice- seems very reasonable, always get the details in writing. Hope this helps others out there looking. I plan to stop by during other activity times to see how the teachers interact with the students and to see if the other reviews about the director(s) are true- I'll post an update.
