The Goddard School3

The best thing this school does in pre-school and pre-k is the weekly "show and share" that corresponds to the letter of the week. Should also add show and share with math somehow too. I believe the only reason my child has the confidence to speak in front of class or school is because of this practice every week in the early years. The down side seems to be the separation between full and part-time kids and 2 hour naps that some kids just fidget and stare at the walls through.
This Goddard is one of the CLEANEST Goddard s in the area. My Husband has to go SOUTH to drop him off to go back NORTH with over an hour commute. BUT we would not have it any other way. This school is worth the driving inconvenience & rates which are slightly higher than some of the other Goddard s. But, please keep in mind YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. After researching &visiting some of the other Goddard s and other schools in the Route 9 North area & on the way to our jobs, we were NOT at all happy with what we saw. The schools were not tidy, organized or by my standards clean. When you walk in the doors at thsi school, you can smell the freshness. I love this school & everything about their program. It s very fun for your child & they are learning through playing. I want to be a child again & go to this school! This school has a wide assortment of educational toys, games & supplies. They have the best selection & variety of school based learning activities & lesson plans. It s not your average daycare facility. It s a real school no matter what classroom your child is in. That is one of the best things I love about the Goddard. NO no expense is spared on your child s education.
The Goddard Marlboro II provides every resource possible to help my 2 year old son develop. Since Jack has been attending the Goddard School Marlboro II he has excelled far beyond his friends that are not enrolled in an educational daycare environment. Jack has not only advanced in his talking and brain development, but he has also learned to socialize with other children his age, which is so important. When we first enrolled Jack we were nervous about leaving our son with total strangers, within a few hours of visiting the Goddard Marlboro II our minds were at ease. Owner and operator, Carol is so passionate about her school and children, that she literally spares no expense when it comes to the latest technology to further the development of our children. The teachers that work at the Goddard Marlboro II are simply the best. They all have a combination of compassion, patience and a love for what they do. My wife and I are so happy in are decision to enroll Jack in the Goddard Marlboro II. We know that the preparation he is receiving now will only benefit him when he starts elementary school and the rest of his life.
We absolutely love this school and have had a great experience for nearly 2 years now. I have trusted this team with my child since infancy. The teachers are loving and warm, and the school is run incredibly well. Communication is excellent and the staff is very attentive. I feel they are very proactive and diligent about making sure everything is going well and that every child's needs are being met. There are also a lot of great extra activities like soccer, dance, etc. that the kids enjoy, special things done to acknowledge the parents, and events that make the school feel like a family. We talk this school up to everyone we meet. It is the best!
This is a pretty good school. We never had a problem. Our only comment would be the kindergarten class. It was good academically. Although, if you are looking for a warm, compassionate kindergarten teacher, this is not the school is for you. The head teacher is quite ridged and aloof around her students.
I feel compelled to write a review because I have two children in this school (Toddler and PreK) and have referred 3 families to this school. All of which are very satisfied with this school. I must tell you I have done extensive research prior to enrolling my 1 year old at the time and visited many other daycares. This was the only one that I felt all the children attending were happy, teachers were very loving and caring, and the owner went out of her way to really make sure her school was the BEST as far as cleanliness, safety and educationally. If any parent is upset about their toddler getting bit or scratched, then you are not ready to send your child to daycare. This is normal behavior for the kids in this stage but the great thing is that the teachers do their best to address any of these issues and work with the parents. Ask a parent who has had their first child bit all the time and the second who constantly bites other children. Bottom line, I chose this school because of how great it is! They are an award-winning school for a reason! I was recommended to this daycare by a family friend of ours who is a pediatrician/GP who sent all 3 of her kids to this school.
I wrote the review on 6/4/12 (not 3/18/12 as the school staff incorrectly identified) and would like to clarify that my issues are not related to the quality of their teachers. As the owner stated, I have a child in pre-K that started reading a few months after joining the class and has learned quite a bit in Pre-K. She had a hard time adapting (kids constantly calling her names) and the teacher worked with me to ease her transition. Within 2 weeks all the problems were solved and those kids are now her best friends. She has also provided guidance to stimulate my child s learning at home. No doubts that she is well prepared and knows what she is doing. The Infant room teachers are all very nice. Although I ve been experiencing issues with my toddler geting bites and scratches in the classroom, I ve also witnessed that teachers review the numbers and letters in English and Spanish daily. She is already counting up to 4 in both languages. She also loves books and they constantly read to her. There is no doubt that they do a good job hiring teachers, I just wished that my concerns as a parent were better addressed or at least problems were better communicated.
I have two children who attend the Goddard School of Morganville. We have been a part of this school for five years, and I have nothing but praise for the teachers, owner, and educational program. I have found the teachers to be dedicated, caring, and nuturing. My children have thrived at Goddard. They are happy, well cared for, and love to learn. I have had excellent communication with the owner, directors, and assistant directors, who are always courteous, attentive, and very knowledgeable about all of the children. If I ever have a question or concern, it is immediately answered or addressed. The director and owner are easily accessible and supportive. It has been my experience that parent communication and feedback are strongly encouraged. The owner holds her staff to high standards. She ensures a safe and very clean facility with the most up to date toys and learning materials. I have always felt confident in the care my children have received in each of the classrooms and highly recommend this school overall.
I find it a shame that some parents feel the need to post their concerns with a school on the internet instead of first seeking out the teacher, director or owner to address these issues. As a parent of a child that attends the Goddard School in Morganville I have no reservations about leaving my child in the their care each day. I know my child is treated with love, patience and understanding. I have never witnessed a teacher treat a child with disrespect and I have spent time in my child's classroom with her as well as having observed the classroom from a monitor that is set up in the office with direct access to each classroom. I have always felt that the management team at the school is very open, honest and friendly and I would never hesitate to speak to them if I had any issues regarding my child. I have also found that the teachers are very good at communicating with the parents during drop off and pick up times. Being an educator myself I know how hard the teachers and staff worked to receive their NAEYC accreditation and it only proves more so that the Goddard School abides by the highest standards.
I am the owner of this school and I am on-site daily and feel it necessary to respond and refute the 6/6/12 review. Parents are asked to come to me at all times if they have any concerns. I do surveys as well. I, along with my director observe the classes on an hourly basis. This parent has been in the school for only 9 months, not 2 years, and her daughter has already learned to read in our PreK classroom. We are licensed for a certain amount of children and we STRICTLY ADHERE to that. The ration is strictly adhered to. In fact, the ratio is 1:12 and we follow 1:9 in that classroom. As far as PTO participation is concerned, when she enrolled we provided her with the PTO website to sign up so she could participate, but she never did. Since then, due to lack of participation, we have no PTO. I have been here 7 years, my passion in life is children as I have none of my own and this school is solely about the best care and learning for each and every child.
