Small World Montessori School has taught my children invaluable lessons about themselves and the world they live in. The children learn at their own pace in a nurturing environment. I would highly recommend SWM if you are looking for a great preschool in Fort Lee.

School is run by an inflexible, intolerant dragon lady who has no regard for modern day teaching methods. Where "manners" and "boundaries" are her most important curriculum. It is the modern day Oliver Twist facility. Let me sum up with a parent who was waiting to let his child inside the facility " why non of the kids that go here smile?". This women markets herself that Dr Oz sent his children there, yet discriminates against children allergies. Madam Montessori is rolling in her grave.

Very expensive. Half day program is too short about 9:00AM to 11:00AM. What's that? Kids are rarely taken out despite the fact that there's a beautiful park directly just down the street.

I applaud Small World for their efforts on trying to bring discipline into the picture, mixing this important ingredient onto the mix , in these, permissive times we are living. My son has enjoyed his school very much and he has been there for 1 1/2 yrs , and at the same time I see that are important concepts the school has stamped onto his personality that will be with him for the rest of his life....

I think that Small World Montessori is a very good school. My daughter has been going there since she was 2.5, and i think it is a very warm and nurturing environment. The director Mrs. Robbins takes personal interest in the kids, and actively discusses the progress and activities of the child in the school on a regular basis. They conduct workshops and seminars for parents from time to time to help create a conducive environment for the child at home. I am definitely sending my second child to this school.

I could write a lot, but this will summarize what this school is about: Kids in Small World Montessori almost never smile. The director has managed to turn the wonderful Montessori approach into an authoritarian camp, in which the only thing that is required from kids is blind obedience. Thank god Montessori herself will never see what happens under her name.
