Sprout House

Quite simply the quality of the teachers is phenomenal. The children learn in a way that develops their natural curiosity and I'm constantly delighted to hear about the activities at the school. My son is graduating from the "Rising Five" program at Sprout House and as much as I like the Chatham schools, I have bittersweet feelings about the transition into the public system and like the other poster I wish that my little one could continue at Sprout House through elementary school (they no longer offer grades 1 through 3).

The Sprout House offers what montessori was truly intended to be when it was founded in the 1970's. All these overpriced, so called 'montessori' schools in the Northeast seem to have lost the basic idea of simplicity and learning through nature and nurture, not rote counting and tracing letters. Fundamentally, the Sprout House serves as an exceptional basis for young children to learn as a whole being, which allows basic skills to stick with them through life. I wish there was a Sprout House Elementary, Junior and Senior High, and a Sprout House Univeristy! Art, music, and nature are all part of each day. Parents can be as involved or as hands off as they'd like to be. Kudos to Sprout House!
