I recently enrolled my first child in Kiddie Academy and was very hesitant about leaving my child in day care. Thanks to the nurturing environment, and the sincerity of the staff, I have never felt any doubt about leaving her there. I am overwhelmed at the helpfulness of everyone who works there, and the art work that comes home is wonderful! I am so confident that my daughter is learning and growing in this school inthe short time I have been here, and I just wanted to tell anyone who was thinking of putting their child in a great school, Kiddie Academy is it. I had looked at 2 other very "high end" daycares in the area, that proclaimed to to be real schools as compared to a "daycare", but the environments there seemed too cold and regimented. Kiddie Academy is the perfect mix of learning and love.
(I ran out of room on my review below and would like to add more.) As far the quality of the school is concerned, they generally meet licensing standards and the facility is kept in relatively good condition. However, I think parents would really be disappointed to see the quaility of child care they are recieving for the high cost of this center. Teachers are often without basic supplies and generally feel unsupported by the administration, leading to less-than-ideal environment. I would encourage prospective parents to investigate other child care options, including family child care, before making a choice to enroll here. I am confident you will find a better quailty child care at a greatly reduced cost in an alternate setting, where your child will have a much more consistent quality of care without being subjected to high turnover.
I am shocked at the negativity of the reviews I have seen posted here. Another parent in this school informed me about the terrible things that were written, and we feel that something needs to be said. I have seen this school go through many changes over the last few years as my children went through the program here, and never has the center been better than it is now. The managemwnt team is wonderful and supportive, the teachers warm and professional, and the building is always cheerful and homey. My kids have learned so much academically and socially during the time they were here. I will be so upset when my youngest goes into elementary school and we no longer are here each day. This school has far exceeded our expectations, and is truly been a blessing for us.
I am a parent at Kiddie Academy in B'water and am appalled at some of the comments that have been made on this site. I have been affiliated with this school for 4 yrs and have seen it go through numerous changes. Everything from management, to teachers, to actual school environment(look, feel etc...). A parent brought this greatschools site to my attention as it bothered her as well to see such unwarrented bashing of this wonderful school. Never has this center been so professionally run, looked better, or the teachers more nurturing and dedicated. I have to think that someone with a grudge, or a jealous competitor, had to have written those negative reviews. I hear nothing but great things from other parents here, and the staff is warm, friendly and so accommodating. My kids have learned so much from this exceptional center, and other parents will also be writing in soon.
I currently have 3 children enrolled at KA Bridgewater and have been a client for 3 years. The current director has taken this school to new positive heights. I'm amazed at how academically advanced my kids are compared to others their age who attend different schools. I was in shock when my oldest wrote the entire alphabet and knew simple math. She types full words on the computer and understands the keyboard. The teachers always keep me informed of my children's health, whether it's something as small as a runny nose to something they feel may be more serious. The director always makes time for me, even before or after hours, if I need to speak with her. I am always greeted with smiles and always leave with smiles -- although it's hard to get my children to leave sometimes since they enjoy the school so much!
That is totally not true. Things are booming in the Bridgewater school. There is a very strong, happy and enthusiastic team there. Enrollment is at an all time high and the parents and teachers have never been happier and so well trained. The school has just gone through the accreditation process and is waiting to hear back. The process itself has strengthened the curriculum, faculty and the team at Bridgewater. I am very proud to be associated with such a quality program and would never pick another school over them.
There must be something in the air! I agree with the 2 most recent reviews. I am a concerned parent as well! Something is not right!
The timing of the posting on April 13, 2010 has hit really close to home. Recently, I have been questionning the current environment , specifically one of the teachers, leadership and the curriculum at the Kiddie Academy in Bridgewater. I suspect, that it has become a glorified babysitting service. With no educational component !! By all appearances, you are led to believe that this is a very welcoming, warm and nurturing environment. As a parent, its unsettling to have zero confidence in this centre. One day while picking up my child (while her teacher just sat there) I instantly knew that my child had heat stroke. When I questionned the teacher she said she was unaware that something was wrong. This on its own is disturbing since my child looked faint and was a reddish/purplish colour (did I mention it was 90 degrees). I'm deeply concerned.
Every since the current director has started two years ago everything has gone downhill. Not only is enrollment done, but the staff standards have gone down as well. Besides from the few original teachers that have been there for 5 + years, the others should not be working in an environment with people, especially young children. The director is fake and needs to leave to make this school what it once was years ago; a fun, happy, fully enrolled school!
I totally agree with previous parent. This school was horrible under the old director. I hope she will never associate herself with any child care services. With the new director many positive changes have been implemented. PTA has been introduced, parent concerns are heard and acted upon, some good teachers have been retained and new teachers are recruited, daily report formats are changed to give more detail information about the child's day. I like that they are open until 6:30pm and that they offer food on site. The environment is healthy and happy.
