Continued from above... ...if we weren't at the bus stop on time. A bit of a rude introduction, and one that made at least one kid cry. Then we get to the school, and go to class. We had a wonderful teacher who seemed to sincerely care, and had the brains to actually do our child some good. Unfortunately, we had less than 10 minutes with her before the principal called everyone into the all-purpose room for a 45 minute ego boost, where she stressed the most important thing the kids will learn is to obey directions. I don't teach my daughter to even listen to me blindly. I teach her to think, and question. The principal sung songs, and thoroughly enjoyed to get the kids, and then most adults, to jump, spin around, and follow other ridiculous direction like radio-controlled toys. Waste of time.

My son had a wonderful experience at the PLC! I was warmly welcomed into the building as a volunteer. The teacher always answered my questions quickly with a note or a phone call or email. The curriculum was excellent- my son received a great education. As a teacher, I was impressed with the progress he made. The building itself is set up to prevent casual drop-in visits, and in this day and age, that's a good thing- we need to keep our children safe. My one regret is that my daughter will miss out on this experience, as the school board has decided to shift the kindergartens back to their home schools.

We think our childs teacher is wonderful, but they do not let enough parent involvement. The administration is a horror to try to get an appt. with or get any issue resolved. We do like the teacher but more reading and a little math would be nice. They don't seem to challenge the children at all. If you plan on keeping your children in brick public school I guess it's o.k. because the rest of the childs school years will be spent the same way.

The Primary Learning Center has brought nothing but problems in my Grandson's life. I am very unhappy with administration. This school has overstepped its boundaries and upset this little guys life. He does not feel good about himself or his family since the 2nd week of school.

The PLC is such a wonderful experience for young children, I already had my oldest go through the Kindergarten Program. The teachers and the Principal are absolutely terrific. They should be proud of their accomplishments

My daughter attended the Primary Learning Center for 2 years of preschool and her kindergarten year. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this school. The fact that your child's first experience with school is in this small adorable school just assures that they have a wonderful first impression about school and obtain the love for learning. Each day the child has a different special (gym, art, library, science, etc). The academic program was amazing!

My sons both went here. Mr.Maher was great with both of them. I will say Brick schools really needs to go full day kindergarden. When my son reached the 1st grade it was such a hug leap from the type of work and amount given that the PLC really doesn`t have the kids prepared for it,and when they go on to the grade school they don`t keep up enough either. My son was a good reader and a great writer going into 1st grade,But they didn`t keep it moving along when he got there! He struggled a little with math. I went to bordens for the material and tutored him myself at home! After that he got caught up and was doing well! Not that I minded doing my part but they should do theirs also!Plan on teaching alot at Home!

Excellent staff, teacher/stident ratio. Teachers easy to communicate with, really care about the kids' learning experiences. Variety of special weekly programs for kids to experiment with. Parental involvement strongly approved of and encouraged.

My daughter attended Kindergarten here, what a waste of a year. The day would have to be very intense for children to get anything out of a 3-hour program yet this program was intended only for the average to below average child. It was letter of the week and coloring pages all year, much less engaging than her private prechool program. She could already read and they made no accomodation for her. There is no way I will send my younger child there.
