My daughter is in Pre-K at Merryhill, and we have been thrilled with her teachers, class size, academics and the learning environment. It is not a very big school and the teachers from all classrooms know my daughter and take the time to say hello to us. Early education is so important, and everyone at this school has helped my daughter begin what is hopefully a lifelong love for learning. She is excited to read to me, shows me the yoga poses she learned in sports, teaches me new spanish words and is excited to go to school every day. The administration and staff are always helpful, answering all questions I have quickly. I highly recommned Merryhill for the academics as well as the nurturing staff. It is expensive, but worth it, especially in the early years.
I am completely disgusted with this preschool and it's lack of organization! The director has no communication skills and "talks out of two sides of her mouth." Maybe if she did one job instead of trying to juggle two jobs at once, things would run more smoothly. I wouldn't enroll my child here if it were the only preschool in GV!!!
School is fantastic. My son had a great experience in Pre-K and Kindergarten. The staff is always there for the children and parents and the administration is helpful. We love it! Thanks Merryhill for two great years
We just pulled our two children from the school. Several parents are also looking for alternatives due to the lack of leadership, communication and safety at the school. very unorganized.
My Son has been in the Warren Walker/Henderson International system since kindergarten. I will have to agree with the other comments I have seen about the cold non-personal atmosphere that has been created by the new corporate owners. Ron Bennett is great. But at the upper level grades it is sad to see the decline of what used to be a fine educational facility to a place of overpriced mediocrity. My Son will be going to another school
The school is more expensive than others in Henderson, and seems to be increasing at a very high rate each. The priority now seems to be about money and less about education. The quality of education is good, but not great. As another parent wrote, their accounting department is terrible, as they make collection calls when no money is owed, even after documentation is produced showing no money is owed. It would be nice to hear from staff about the progress of the kids. Some staff changes are needed as they have internal problems that need to be addressed. The principle is good, but most of the revenue brought in does not go towards improving the education and the school. Our child will be going to another school next year.
I have had two children go to Warren Walker/The Henderson International School and this has left us very disappointed. Excluding the Principal, Mr. Bennett, and some staff that were left over before the 'corporate' take-over, we are left to feel that our childrens needs would have been best suited in even a decent public school. Bottom line as echoed by multiple parents....the school is only concerned about their accounts receivable. For instance, we get harassing calls when no money is owed, but rarely have received a call about the growth or development or achievements of our children. We have spent many years in this school and quite honestly Mr. Bennett can only do so much to offset the coldness of the banks that own this school. Mrs. Smith is still sorely missed.
When I moved to Las Vegas I was unhappy with the private school choices so I started interviewing private schools. After visisting many schools I chose Warren Walker, now called Henderson International. I have been very pleased with the faculty and leadership particularly the headmaster. As far as academics my daughter has jumped many grade levels in reading and is also soaring in math. I do spend alot of time outside of the classroom on homework review but I think this is a very good academic program. I am also very pleased as a working parent that there are valuable after school activities. Many schools offer babysitting type services but Henderson International offers piano, choir, cooking, karate, ballet, gymnastic, science clubs, chess clubs and a variety of other activities which lead to well rounded children. My complaints, the uniform company does not meet or send orders often.
This school is awesome! My daughter is going into second grade there and we love it. The principal at lower school is great(Mr. Bennett) Kristy
New owners of school are more interested in their bottom line than the interests of the children. Teachers need evaluation.
