My son went to this school when he was two years old and was extremely disappointed. Different children attended different days so every day my child went, there were many different kids. The teacher actually complained to me about some of the students during the parent-teacher conference. She told me that most of the kids were clueless and that they just don't get it. She told me she suspected that my child was autistic even though he made great eye contact and was very loving. Now my son is five and clearly far from autistic. What kind of teacher makes an accusation like that without lots of data and ample information. She didn't even bother to fill out the report card. The teachers are not certified and clearly don't know what is developmentally appropriate and that there are ranges of development.
As a montessori parent, you have set expectations that you know your child will attain. We switched montessori schools at the beginning of this school year, and we couldnt be any happier. Our children LOVE school and the teachers. They have blossomed into great little people. My only regret is that this school hadnt opened before it did. My oldest doesnt want to leave this school to go onto 1st grade, although, he is more than prepared to do so. The teachers strive to prepare the children for their future educational needs. I love this school. Mrs. B
Countryside Montessori is an excellent choice for preschoolers in the Creve Coeur area. The school has 3 loving teachers in the 3-5 age classroom. Mrs. Johnson, Mrs.Kim and Ms.Karen are all extremely nice and knowledgeable. They are not stressed and enjoy the time with the children. There is effective emphasis on academic learning along with building social skills, encouraging creativity and physical activities. The director is also very helpful and the teachers are very open and allow free conversation whenever you want to know about your child.
