Samuel Preschool is and remains a wonderful, nurturing environment under the vision of a school director hired by the parent advisory board years ago. Some teacher turnover? Yes. But, change is not always negative. To make a place better, effective, and responsive to student and parent needs, change can be necessary and beneficial. The "changes" alluded to in other posts have left zero void. The current Samuel teachers were hand-selected for their unparalleled ability to educate, support, and challenge students in a positive environment. The internet has difficult waters to navigate. Anybody can post anything without a name and without disclosing bias or motivation. Visit Samuel. Meet staff and students. Meet and question the director. Make an informed decision for yourself. That is what my family did while changes were occurring. We remain at Samuel. We could not be happier with our decision and Samuel's direction.
My son attends the 3-day class and I love the school - the teachers are fantastic and the community is great. The teachers take interest in the students and put a lot of effort into making each day a fun learning day (in the last month I've seen the kids cozy up to a cardboard fireplace to look at books or pretend they are astronauts in a space shuttle for a space theme - the kids absolutely love it). Another part that really drew me to Samuel is the school brings in different programs like Spanish class, yoga, etc to enrich the daily activities and hosts evening events periodically so the families can meet each other. I am really glad we found Samuel Preschool, it is a very welcoming and nurturing environment.
This was once a great school. This is now no longer the case. My older children thrived during their time at Samuel. The teachers were a part of your family. In the two short years since a new director has been hired I'm saddened to see a 100% turnover of a once fantastic staff. Every single long term teacher is gone. The enrollment is so low, all classes were full during their time there. It was a happy place to be. Many families are leaving, including mine!
My two oldest children went here when this was a great school. However my youngest will no longer attend Samuel. Since a new director was hired two short years ago there has been 100% teacher turnover! Every single teacher has left. Enrollment is down by 60%. Along with others, my family will be leaving Samuel.
My daughter has attended Samuel for two years and it's been a wonderful experience. We are looking forward to sending her younger sister there next year as well. As both a parent and certified Early Childhood teacher, I can confidently say that this preschool and it's staff have the young students best interests at the forefront of all they do. Children at Samuel are cared for and feel safe and secure as they learn to love school!
I have sent two children to this school and they have both had very good experiences. The teachers care about them and they were cared for in a small and safe environment. There are many wonderful families there and contrary to the earlier review, there are MANY teachers there that have been there for many years. I strongly encourage you to check out this preschool if you are interested in having your children in a nurturing and special preschool environment.
I currently have two children enrolled in this school. The teachers are wonderful. They make my children feel loved and are providing a wonderful learning and nurturing environment. My children look forward to school days and I love having a community where my children feel loved and happy. If you are looking for a school for your little ones, I strongly recommend you stop by and tour Samuel.
