As parents, Christians & professionals, we carefully looked into several preschools before deciding on Kingdom Kids. All three of our kids have attended (or are attending) KK. Our two school-age children entered the public school system very well prepared academically and socially. While at KK, they received a solid Christian foundation & a nurturing and accepting (first) educational experience. We can t say enough about the quality teachers, staff & Kingdom Kids community.

I have sent both of my girls here for preschool. Both of them attended for 3 years. I love the teachers, I love the school and my kids love it too! They still talk fondly about their teachers. When other parents hear who they've had, they'll chime in on how much they loved that teacher for their little one as well. Even though we live in SW Rochester, we wouldn't have chosen any other school. The only down side which I do understand is in the beginning of the year, no matter how many years you've gone there, you have to go through this Director's orientation. That's basically the Director making a pitch for that church....other than that, we have no complaints!

The facilities were really nice, but the curriculum and faculty leave lots to be desired. I was told by my daughter's teacher that she "wasn't picking up on all the songs, etc." and they felt she wasn't understanding all the concepts in class. I questioned my child about the songs at school. Her response was "I just don't like singing a lot of the songs about Jesus' army because I don't want to shoot arrows." This school focuses so much on the Bible portion of their curriculum that they fail to appreciate any child that falls outside of the normal range, whether it be an exceptionally bright child, a creative child, or a child with special needs. They also did not express to us how much of the very short day was spent on the Christian themes and how detailed they got with the little ones. We're a Christian family at a different church and were appalled when our 2 yo said she was scared to talk about Easter because she didn't want to look at Jesus' bloody hands. When I brought it up with the director she acted like I wasn't a good Christian because I didn't want to discuss the gory details with a toddler. We did not recommend the school to any of our friends and left after one year.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
