Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My child's teacher is annoyed that she needs to put in a little extra effort for his unique needs. We have found teachers and the principal to be quite rude and unsupportive. If your child is not in the top third of the class, re-think enrolling them because they will not be respected nor appreciated.

Albertville Primary is an amazing school. Our son's teacher truly cares about each child and does everything she can to help each child thrive. He has learned so much more this year than we thought he would in kindergarten. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Albertville Primary is a wonderful school with enthusiastic teachers and a caring, knowledgeable principal. My first child had a superior teacher who did more than anyone could ever ask, including hosting a parents day where the students presented a play and power point presentation. As parents, we are always treated like we are important parts of the educational process. This year we are equally impressed with the progress my kids have made in kindergarten, in both math and reading. The math program has taught them to be problem solvers and critical thinkers while the reading program has prepared each to be actively engaged, fluent readers. My kids have the luxury of specialists in art, music and phy ed. and the technology in the school is second to none. The caring atmosphere the principal has created is wonderful and we couldn't be more happy with the school system.

Agree completely that parent input is quickly snubbed out by the principal. Our child's teacher is academically sound, but lacks compassion needed to work with young children. Negative feedback readily given to our child, but critical feedback from our perspective consistantly swept under the rug. Not a good experience - at least for our family.

Great Teachers and facility. They only have kindergarten in this school with both half day and full day. My sons teacher genuinely cares about his progress

Poor leadership in this school. Teachers are solid, the only bright spot. But parent input is quickly snubbed out by the principal.

Special Education program in this school is poor at best. There is very little communication with parents and seems to be in the best interest of the SE budget and not the SE kids. Significant changes need to happen in this area!

The school is well-funded, perhaps too much so. There are full-day programs though they needed the space for half-day, so they added teachers (to have larger class sizes) with 2 licensed teachers per 29 kids in some first grades...and moved some first graders to the 2nd-5th building where they don't get the same atmosphere and chance to be the oldest or use libraries geared to them. (or have the teachers eat lunch with them, which is a great selling point of the Primary!) High parent involvement. Plenty of extracurricular, as well as ample music, art and sports. Academically, not top notch, using inferior texts such as Everyday Math that other states have banned for poor results and weak college prep. Some parents beginning to rebel and hope teachers give it an honest look - there are more rigorous offerings.

What a great school. My daughter is in Kindergarten and she looks forward to school everyday because of the great staff. They really take the time with each student individually.
