Lakeside Montessori has been a real blessing to our family. Both my wife and I have professional jobs. Lakeside Montessori allowed us to enroll our children full days, and coordinated after-school care with the child care located in the same building. Both of our girls have late birthdays - October and November. Our first one is now in third grade - reading at the eighth grade level. Our youngest is at Lakeside Montessori in Kindergarden. She loves to write and is excelling in math. Lakeside's staff is very experienced and caring. The older kids help the younger kids. It is a very nurturing environment. -- 11/2009
If you've not yet experienced a Montessori classroom, Lakeside Montessori in Holland is a model example. The first time I witnessed the beauty of a Montessori classroom was a few years ago when researching pre-schools. I was extremely impressed with the busy calm of the classroom of 18-20 children ages 2-5 working independently as well as together on projects ranging from letters and numbers to cooking their own breakfast sandwich for a snack. All while two teachers instructed and encouraged from the background. My child has now been in a class at Lakeside for several months and when I recently visited the classroom I found the same wonderful class style orchastrated by two loving and talented teachers.
Lakeside Montessori is the best academic preschool in Holland. It is worth every penny. We sent both of our children to Lakeside for preschool and they both were more than prepared for Kindergarten as a result. The teachers do not baby the children, but are very kind and consistent. The children are taught the value of working collaboratively and fulfilling responsibilities in a completely age appropriate way. We really appreciated the ethnic diversity of the school and the focus on global community. If you look at the tuition cost broken down per hour, it is just over $4, which is entirely reasonable considering the experience the children get. It is a wonderful place.
This school is excellent, I am extremely pleased that my daughter was able to experience preschool here.
Pretty pricey for a preschool, but the teachers are fun and innovative. Tends to be upper class families with ethnic divirsity. If you can foot the bill, you should be happy with the school
