LPS has been transformational for my son and our family. He s just finishing his fourth year at LPS, and continues to blossom academically and socially, beyond my expectations. The extraordinarily dedicated staff at Learning Prep have restored his self-confidence, inspired a love of learning, and provided a haven of consistency and security. Learning Prep is a school that understands and embraces the unique challenges of students with complicated learning disabilities. We are so grateful to have found this amazing school.
The Learning Prep School changed my daughters life and saved her from the torment she was experiencing in a school system that failed to recognize the depth and complexity of her learnng disbilities and therefore could not address them. She could not process the information in the classroom and she would shut down, become anxious and sad.We knew we had to do something. We learned about Learning Prep and we prayed that LPS could help our daughter. We did not have to wait long; after the first day of school , she came out smiling and she told me what she learned in school that day. I felt so relieved. She continues to smile and to learn every day. Miracles happen. Thank you Learning Prep!
After years of struggling in public school, my daughter finally goes to school in the morning without resisting, does homework on her own without crying, and no longer says every day, "I don't get it." LPS has given her the chance to be a normal, happy kid, and given our family the opportunity to do and talk about other fun family things besides how to get through the school year.
My daughter attended Learning Prep School and still talks about all the wonderful staff and teachers. She had terrible experiences in public school and I feel that LPS changed her life forever. She graduated from college 2 years ago and I feel LPS was the largest contributor to her success.
Absolute nightmare!!!! The way kids are treated at this school is UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!! They have the public school systems SNOWED!!!! The staff is ROTTEN and could use some social skills classes of their own!!!! They accept anybody and claim to know what they're doing. THEY DON'T!!! Stay away!!!
mean and heartless my son got a detention for looking suspicious the teachers are cruel and mean my son walked out of the school crying his eyes out on the first day there system is all over the place and it hurt my son self esteem after the hard days work he gets yelled at by Elane in middle school and the assistant principal doesn't do anything and dos not lesson to what you have to say they have Favorites like zack. the non bullying policy is going to far and its not helping the kids at the school its making them scared this school needs to change its policy soon before thay shut down. lps is a trap they a dont let u get into a good school after because all the detentions make it look like you have behavioral problems when u really dont NEVER COME HERE its A prison
Our family is eternally grateful to Nancy Rosoff and the staff at LPS. My son is beginning his 4th year at the school and the experience has been transformational for our family. The structure of the school, the incredible dedication of the teachers and staff, and their ability to create a safe environment that promotes a love of learning has taken a boy who hated school and transformed him into a student. Learning Prep is an amazing place and we are so fortunate to be a part of the community.
Could not agree more with the most recent poster. To give you an idea, My son was given a detention for yelling out 'yea!' when the teaches said it was time to go home. My son was in LPS for dyslexia not any kind of behavioral issues. A child who cannot read at 12 has low estemm already, they do not need to be told everything they are doing wrong and giving them a detention and sent to the principal office.
My child is will start his ninth year at LPS in September. When he first came to Learning Prep, he was a scared second grader who had been attacked in public school. He is now a confident, well-rounded, happy young man who thrives in his school environment. LPS saved our lives. I will never be able to thank Nancy Rosoff and all of our son's teachers enough. My child found safety and encouragement in this school and we expect him to go on to college in a couple of years. What a gift.
