Winthrop offers developmentally appropriate environments for youngsters 18 months up to Kindergarten. The school creates a supportive atmosphere of inclusion, building a sense of community for families. Strong leadership and credentialed teachers offer an unparalleled program in our opinion. The emphasis on individual students within the context of a group setting builds confidence and enhances appropriate skill development. The positive, proactive approach is appreciated. Truly a professionally setting and organization! A gem! Outdoor playground space is limited on site as in many urban settings; however, active activites are incorporated into daily routines and playgrounds nearby are used, giving youngsters contextual experience with sidewalk safety, following directions & listening.
Real Good for parents who work in Back Bay. Teachers are good in general-some more experience than others. However, I wasn't pleased with my daughter's last year in daycare because she was getting bored after being there for 3 yrs. School does really well in fund raising activities. NO PLAYGROUND..you have to walk a block to the pubic one. None denominational teachings but funny when all the children are talking about Halloween* and leaving early for sweets. * "All Saints Eve"-modern English translation.
Overall an adequate school (daycare), some very experienced teachers and some new to industry, perfect for people working in Back Bay, non-demoninational, no playground except for public one shared with other schools.
