Learning Center for Young Children, LCYC

this is a great school that I've found so far for my daughter. she enjoys it every day. teacher in her class is very knowledgeable, and doing excellent job.

This co-op preschool is very affordable and has a nice family feel. I think the teachers are okay, but the aides are a little lacking. My husband and I found the aides to be loud, chatty and sometimes not engaging with the children. Potty training is not required, which is nice, however the teachers don't schedule potty breaks. This can be a set back and inconsistent from home, if you're trying to potty train your child. The overall structure is laid back which can be good or not, depending on your preschool expectations. Overall, I think it's a good social experience. We sent our daughter here for a two year old class and decided to send her to a non co-op preschool with more enrichment and professionalism, for her three and four year old classes.

Sorry, but I saw poor classroom management and negative attitude towards parents. School needs a behind-the-scenes attitude adjustment. Stop the condescending attitude and back-stabbing towards your co-opers - they are your clients, your customers. Not professional.

Both our boys have gone to LCYC and we all loved it. The teachers all have many years of experience and the play based curriculum is wonderful! LCYC is a warm and open community and we've made some wonderful friends. We were very well prepared for kindergarten, which is pretty rigorous these days. LCYC also offers a great music program taught by John Horman, who has spent decades teaching music to children of all ages. The boys loved the vintage toys, the outdoor and indoor play spaces, and the teachers and staff. We just wish all schools could be like this.
