My daughter has been going to this school for past one year. She loves her teachers. Teachers and staff are very courteous. I am very pleased with the way my daughter has been progressing overall. I highly recommend this school.
We are very pleased with the Jefferson Montessori School. Our daughters are born just after the age cutoff for most schools. Other schools said my daughters would be in the threes room in the Fall, but then they just turn four 2 months later. With Montessori, education depends on readiness to learn a certain skill, not age. If you ve read Montessori is child-lead learning , don t fear that your child will work by her/himself all day. There s plenty of circle time, small grp. activities and 1-on-1 time with teachers. Staff are polite, skilled, caring & they listen to me if I have a question/concern. One of my kids is in a class with 30 students. I was worried about this but there are two assistant teachers in the room. Also I ve talked with the main teacher & it is clear she knows my daughter well, cares for her and is very aware of her in the classroom. The aftercare teachers are excellent; when I pick up my daughters, every child in the room is pleasantly engaged. Our home life is much more enjoyable now that our expectations (e.g. table manners, saying please and thank you ) are in place at school as well. Highly recommend this school!
It is a great school. My oldest son just finished his third year there. I am seeing the fruits now. He is social, excellent in reading, and doing well in mathematics too. We are very proud of who he has become. He goes to aftercare program and sometimes before care as well. He is very happy to join these programs. Another advantage is that the school has Mandarin program in addition to Spanish. My son can recognize several Chinese words and can sing several Chinese songs. Even though it is an expensive school, we are putting our middle son there too because we know it is going to be a good investment for them.
This school has a poor before care program. The before care staff were extremely cold and uncaring. I witnessed a before care teacher on her labtop most mornings, and extremely annoyed when children asked her questions. They also snapped at the children when they tried to play with the montessori materials in the room saying, 'Don't touch that!' Yet there were no other toys in the room to play with. My child sat alone every morning and the teachers were seemed content that she didn't trouble them. They said she was there to observe. I strongly do not recommend the school if you need your child in before or after school care.
My son attends this school. Very well organized, great staff and my son love s it! I recommend this school to any parent.
I love this school! it offers the best of Montessori plus a warm, friendly atmospher for both the students & the parents. Our daughter has gone for 3 years & was reading fluently at age 4 1/2; now she's 5 and doing amazing math, learning about the planets etc. They have a wonderful art teacher & a fantastic sports coach. Lovely campus, great school, can't say enough about it.
