Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

I could not be more impressed with a school and it's staff. The director is fabulous and tireless in her position. The teachers have excellent experience and credentials. The children are happy and excelling. The curriculum is right in line with the state mandates and is accredited by the state of Maryland. I would not hesitate recommending or sending a child to this school.

My 3-year-old absolutely loves this school and so do I! Yes, the teachers may be new to the school, but they are wonderful. My daughter comes home every day full of stories, and we reinforce the things she's learned that day at home. They're already working on basic math -- she understands that 1+1 is 2 and 1+2 is 3, and has learned how to count on her fingers to find the correct answer. I'm so glad we found Fallston Community!

There indeed have been changes at Fallston Community. The curriculum has the same foundation, but has been improved to meet the higher standards set forth by MSDE. All of the new teachers have Master's degrees. The Pre-K is an outreach mission program of the church. It maintains it's own budget as well as being directly governed by a committee where the Director of the Pre-K provides the lead role. This is no change from previous years. The previous staff chose to leave on their own accord to establish their own preschool. Fallston Community Pre-K has always been and will continue to be committed to providing a positive educational preschool experience for children; their well being is our main concern.

This used to be a great school. However, the entire staff and most parents have left the school due to changes made by the church staff. When an entire staff leaves at the same time, that tells you a lot about how they were being treated. I would never even consider sending my children to the new school after what transpired there over the last year. Those are not the type of values I want my children exposed to and not the type of people I want educating and influencing my children. I'm sure the new director and the new teachers hired have excellent qualifications and are possible great teachers, however they are still being directed by the same church staff and church members that caused the previous staff members to leave. The previous staff had been at that school for many, many years and had a very loyal following of parents. Almost ALL of the parents have also left the school and enrolled their children elsewhere because of how the staff was treated, the changes that were made and how the changes were implemented.

I suppose it's an okay school if your child has no special needs. When it was discovered my child needed assistance, it was suggested we find somewhere else to attend, even though Child Find had worked with the facility in the past and could have assisted us there.
