University Church Nursery School

I could not have made a better choice of preschools for my 3 year old. The teachers and director are fantastic. They are so nurturing, thoughtful, and kind to my son. It has been a truly wonderful experience and I can't wait for my younger son to start as well. I would very highly recommend this school!

University Church Nursery School has been a staple in the University Park community for years. We chose the preschool after so many of our friends' children had wonderful experiences there. The staff is nurturing, friendly, and engaging, all with excellent qualifications. So many positive changes have occurred since the new director came on board -- making a great preschool phenomenal! They seem to offer children the best of both play-based AND academic programs, by introducing topics and skills in hands-on friendly ways. Our two children have really blossomed there and we couldn't be more pleased!

Such a warm and engaging environment. Our girls have been thrilled to attend school each day, and so proud to come home and show off what they've learned. The school's philosophy and teaching staff rely heavily on an approach that allows children to be children, and to learn in an experiential, project- and play-based way. Yet they are also exposed to all of the pre-academic skills that are essential in today's competitive and demanding kindergarten classes. We will truly be sad to say goodbye to UCNS when that time comes!

My 4 year old currently attends the school and I would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a preschool. The staff is excellent, warm and caring. I look forward to sending my 1 year old as soon as he is old enough.

Two of my sons currently attend UCNS, and my eldest son has been there for three years. I strongly recommend this pre-k school for any child. The teachers and staff are very caring, and the community feeling is wonderful. The location is very conducive to various areas, including College Park, University Park, Hyattsville, Silver Spring, and even Greenbelt. I highly recommend it to any family searching for an excellent school.

UCNS is a wonderful school. My daughter attended for 3 years and my son is starting his second year. It feels like a small town school where the director knows every child's name and parents. The teachers are outstanding. I would recommend it without reservation to any parent looking for a preschool.
