My daughter has attended the three year old class for the 2008-2009 school year. Our experience with CCPC has been very good overall. My daughter loves school, she is learning, and she is experiencing structure, socialization and following instruction from a teacher. I know the end of the year is going to be tough as she will not want a break from school. Her teacher, Ms. Humphrey's is interested in each child, gentle and highly motivated in her position. My daughter also loves Ms. Seppi and the music time they have each week. The only dissapointment this year has been turnover in the assistant position in my child's classroom. CCPC has been a great blessing to us this year and we have our daughter registered for the four year old class and her younger sister registered for the threes next year.
My older children went to CCPC in earlier years and had a wonderful experience. My last child went this year, 2008-2009, and unfortunately the experience was not quite as good. The director has changed and the school seems to be in a period of transition. The fees for 5 day classes have increased substantially without much communication as to why. The director is not very approachable and inflexible. We have loved all the teachers we've had and it's a nice play-based preschool (although it seems to be heading more towards a curriculum, which is a shame in my opinion). I would have whole-heartedly recommended this preschool based on my older children's experience, but can't based on this past year.
My two children have attended CCPC and both kids loved their preschool experience. CCPC supports play-oriented learning and helped my older child immensely in improving his socialization skills. Academically, CCPC seems to help kids learn what they need to progress, but parents who prefer a more rigorously academic-oriented setting may be uncomfortable with their relaxed, play-oriented philosophy, although it has worked very well for my children. Their kindergarten is more academically rigorous than preschool. Teachers/staff are approachable and responsive to parents' concerns. The music teacher, Mrs. Seppi, is just wonderful and the kids love her.
