My two-year-old son has attended Naper Blvd. Chesterbrook for the last six months and I am thrilled! His teachers are wonderful! They are extremely warm, compasionate, and loving. That made it much easier on both my son and me, as this has been his first school experience after being at home with me since birth. I have also noticed huge improvements in my son's language development and skills like counting and letter recognition. Sometimes he surprises me with how much he knows! Having worked at another preschool myself, one thing I really appreciate at Chesterbrook is the staff consistency. I know from experience you do not get that at every school. The classroom is clean, spacious, and stimulating, and it is clear that the teachers have a very consistent routine to the day, which I know is comforting to my child. I feel 100% comfortable leaving my baby in their care. I would heartily recommend this school to anyone.
My daughter has attended Chesterbrook for the past 2 1/2 years. She is now in her 4th classroom. She has had a wonderful relationship with her teachers in all of the the classrooms. Her teachers take a special interest in her and the other kids, they continue to engage even when their student has moved. I have been very impressed with how well she has responded to the ciriculum. She is able to do simple math and read site words at 4. I also appreciate the consistency of staff. There has been very little teacher turnover which provides consistency and security to me and my daughter.
I feel it is important to share just how we have enjoyed Chesterbrook on Naper Blvd- I have just enrolled my third child there and have been attending since 2003. I cannot even put into words how I feel about the staff and families that have become like a family to us over the yrs. I have had the joy and comfort of watching all of my children interact with the same teachers over the years and the trust that is formed from that consistency is priceless. I feel that when I walk out the door every morning that my children are loved and supported in every way by CB. The curriculum is very strong and after sending my daughter to full day Kindergarten@CB - she has breezed through 1st grade. I have recommended Chesterbrook to many friends and neighbors and they have enjoyed their experiences as well!
All schools have their ups and downs. Unfortunately, Chesterbrook is having a down. The teacher morale is very low and that can be felt throughout the school. There are only a couple classrooms I would feel comfortable sending my own child to. At the time of this posting (early 2009), Chesterbrook is definitely not worth the highly inflated price.
