I had my son here for 2 school years. We were very satisfied the first year and the first 2 months of the second year. The second year he had moved up to the preschool room and had a great, Montessori trained, teacher. Due to the ogre-like administration, she quit in October! The replacement had no knowledge of Montessori practices besides the fact the kids ran all over her. Several parents tried to talk to the administration. They put in an extra teacher to help train the new teacher for about a month and that was it. The new teacher was still horrible and had no control. They do not care about Montessori or your child. Do not go here if you want more than a glorified daycare.
I had my child at Park View for the past 3 years and I can't say enough good things about the school. My child learned much more than just academics. He is now doing so well at a gifted school. Teachers & staff are very nice and care about the children. I would highly recommend this school. But I heard it is difficult to get your child into the school now.
I have had my child here for the past 4 years. Until this last year I have had nothing but good experiences but recently the administration has changed and does not address concerns raised (though they have no problems cashing checks and giving the teachers a lot of extra time off that you are forced to take off work yourself). Very poor school that I would recommend against.
My child attends this school, and I have seen her blossom in just her first 2 months here. They encourage independence, everything is very organized and you can feel the strong sense of community. My child is happy to go every day and she talk about her teachers and her peers constantly, which shows me that this is a healthy and positive environment for her. Her language and motor skills have improved tremendously, as well as her social skills. I highly recommend this preschool!
We had our child in this school for two years. We felt let down from the very beginning. On the very second day of our toddler's school experience, the teacher expressed anguish and complained that our little one did not want to do anything in class. Made us wonder if she had any understanding of kids at all and had ever heard of separation anxiety. During the two years, there were several occasions when we witnessed parents having verbal duals with the administrators on varying issues. The teachers there are an unhappy lot but still good with the kids. But we did not see our child making much academic progress in this school. The school offers several optional programs for an additional charge. Parental involvement is thoroughly discouraged.
I have two children attending this school and it is fabulous! The teachers are warm, caring and attentive. They focus on buliding each child's level of independence and my kids look forward to school every day. There are several extracurricular classes to choose from: art, computer, dance, music, gym and foreign language. The downside is that the school only accommodates 2-6 yr olds - with such an excellent program, I wish they would also serve the elementary kids through 8th grade!
