My son attended preschool and is currently in kindergarden at All Aboard. We've been very happy with our experience - they are almost always open (only closed on holidays), have lots of activities for the kids and teach kids at various levels. My son is in kindergarten but they are teaching him second grade math.

I am a former student of All Aboard Learning Express who is going into 6th grade. All Aboard has taught me a lot. When I entered my current school for kindergarten I found everything very easy. On the parent day they said to my mom and dad "This school year your children will learn how to write their own names and count up to 120". All Aboard had already taught me all of that. They also taught me my colors, months, days, writing the alphabet and all the numbers. Stuff we were just touching on in kindergarten. AllAboard Learning Express holds some of my most dear, fun and happiest memories of my young life.I am very thankful tot them. I don't think they can improve a thing because they have already skyrocketed into the heavens. (And that is a lot coming from an 11 year old girl!)

First off they only serve pizza once a week and they serve it with a salad for each child and a fruit. The school is excellent. Both of my children went to All Aboard and loved it as well as myself. I volunteered my time with the school in the past and went on all field trips with my kids. It is an excellent choice. They DO NOT GIVE JUNK FOOD EVERY DAY!

This school doesn't communicate well with parents. After sending in the appropriate paper work, I had to call to make sure that they had received everything. I never received a confirmation or a letter welcoming us to the school/camp, the dates of camp, etc. After calling to make sure they had received all the paper work I was told that they had. On the first day of summer camp, I dropped my daughter off and they tell me because my doctor didn't fax in the medical form she chouldnt' stay. We also have our daughter on the waitlist for the fall and have been told over and over that she was first on the waitlist and that they make sure that they have get all their summer campers in. After being told this over and over again they then told me that she would not be getting in and that she wasn't 1st on the list. When asked why they would continute to string us along they said "we have to make sure we fill the building." The food isn't very good either. For example, for breakfast they served cereal out of dixie cups and called that breakfast. My daughter then had donuts for snack and water and for lunch pizza. She is there early in the morning until 6 pm and only had one snack.

We could not be happier with this school! Our oldest daughter has completed 2 years of preschool, kindergarten, and 3 summers of camp and we continue to be in awe of the care and education she receives every day. Our youngest will enter preschool there this fall and we could not be more proud to provide these same opportunities for her. Thanks All Aboard, and keep up the outstanding work!!

As new parents we are thrilled with this school not only for the social/emotional nurturing but especially for the academics. We searched several schools and chose this one as we found it to be top notch. We recently had the pleasure of attending the Bowling Night Out and it was extremely fun! It was so nice to talk with other parents and the staff. When dropping off or picking up there is just never enough time. Our friends tried signing up but are on the waiting list which is quite long...just more validation to my wife and I that this is an excellent and much sought ought school. We are beyond pleased!!!

The school is exactly what we were looking for. It is well maintained, clean, and offers the academic base we wanted. The fundraiser evening was great!!! I did not attend last year and did not know what to expect but was thrilled. Again, nothing but wonderful things to say about the program, staff, and families. I am so glad we found this school.

My family has found this school to be helpful with everything from transitioning from home care to school through teaching us ways to provide positive homework habits. Each Parent Night we have attended as been lovely. With the overcrowding now relevant in our neighborhood schools the focus on academics are huge to us which is why we send our kids and will continue sending our younger ones to this school. We asked for ways to get involved in the office and were delighted to see they encourage this. Even grandma has had the change to participate! They set a great foundation academically and socially. Bravo to ALL staff and families who strive to ensure the best is provided for our children!!!!

My son was a student at All Aboard two years ago. He started out in the preschool room and was moved into the kindergarten room at an early age. I love this school. I witnessed the interaction between the teachers, the teaching assistants and the general staff with my child and I was always very pleased. They are patient, caring and focused on what's best for the child. My youngest son will be starting there soon as well. I wouldn't think of sending him anywhere else. By the way, my oldest was just accepted into the Gifted Program at CPS. All Aboard had something to do with that. Great school, good people.

My child has been at All Aboard for two years now, I could not be any happier! I feel that as a teacher myself I am very satisfied with the curriculum, the caring teachers, and the environment! I feel as though they have done a fantastic job preparing her for Kindergarten and beyond! This is a school that I have recommended to friends and family, I will continue to do so even after my daughter goes on to Kindergarten. My family and I will be sad to leave but know that we have made life long friends in the school.

Great school that is well run. I have my second child in the program and am very happy with the results we have gotten from both children. The materials and class work really prepare children for first grade.

I have been a staff member for over 16 years now. Years ago I helped run the school annual Holiday Bazaar which back in the early 90's was our fundraiser each year. However, parents were surveyed and wanted a night out. Which is why for the last five years I have helped co-chair the Silent Auction and yes there is a lot of work involved. Each year as a result of the event there are many purchases made and ALL profits are used to benefit the students. The first few years of Auctions were much more successful than recent years as attendance has drastically declined. New parents may not be aware that the entire playground, rubberized play areas, sand tables, science center, handicap accessible ramps, and playhouses were all purchased with fundraiser money. This was an extremely expensive renovation. The last few years we have upgraded the High Reach curriculum and now implement this program throughout the entire school year. All rooms received new toys, puzzles, board games, art supplies etc. Also, with the remaining funds one computer was purchased for the classroom students gather in first thing in the morning. If funds allowed all rooms would have each received one.

The teachers at All Aboard are wonderful and caring individuals. Students are challenged and accommodated at every level. The administration is what concerns me. As a parent I am proud to say that their auctions do very well. Though, I'm curious as to what the director does with the money raised from the auction. They haven t gotten new manipulatives or toys in years and buying from a garage sale doesn t count. I have nothing against garage sales but if the money is available there is no reason why students shouldn t benefit from new materials. Hopefully the money raised this year will benefit the students/teachers. Maybe classrooms will get lucky and get those computers that they have been promised since the first auction. Once again the stars given are for the teachers.

I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about All Aboard. My daughter attended school there for 3 years and tested into a regional gifted program in the area. It is a challenging academic environment, with very caring teachers and staff. They also know how to have fun with the kids! The nutritional catered lunches (which are anything but "kid food") really helped my daughter branch out into new foods and even got her eating red meat. My daughter has very fond memories of her years at All Aboard. We are happy that our son is now attending preschool there too. He loves it and every week we are amazed at what they teach these little ones! The school's open communication policy is key and we have found them to be very receptive to our questions and concerns. They welcome parent volunteers, which is a great way to see first hand the great work that they do. I give All Aboard an A+ and will continue to recommend them to family and friends.

All Aboard is a great school! Friendly teachers that are extremely helpful. I can't imagine what the writer from aug 16 2010 encountered. This is a wonderful nurturing environment for children that encourages creativity, respect and compassion. I can only imagine that the writer from the 16th either has unreasonable expectations or a personality flaw. The staff has never been anything but wonderful. Great School!!!!

This is an amazing school! I have had 2 children at All Aboard and I could not have been happier. My children have been in every room and I never found a single staff member to be uncaring, inconsistent, or frequently absent. My children were and are very happy there. The staff is very caring and nurturing. They are heavy on curriculum and they have an advanced Kindergarten. If you are not interested in seeing your child succeed in school, or enter the 1st grade several steps ahead of the rest of the kids in 1st grade, then this school is not for you. Their advanced curriculum is offset by their after school program which gives the children plenty of play time to use their imaginations to create and explore. My only complaint is that the school ends at Kindergarten. I wish it went through the 8th grade.

My daughter has attended All Aboard Learning Express for the last three years. We have had a wonderful experience. I am amazed at her social and intellectual growth over this time. The kindergarten program was exceptional. The owner and the staff were always caring and professional. Starting my daughter's education at All Aboard was a great decision. I would recommend this school to anyone.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

What is the GreatSchools Rating?

The GreatSchools rating is a simple tool for parents to compare schools based on test scores, student academic growth, and college readiness. It compares schools across the state, where the highest rated schools in the state are designated as “Above Average” and the lowest “Below Average.” It is designed to be a starting point to help parents make baseline comparisons. We always advise parents to visit the school and consider other information on school performance and programs, as well as consider their child's and family's needs as part of the school selection process.
