My daughter attended this preschool for the 2013-2014 school year and loved being in the two year-old class with Ms. Mindy and Ms. Mo. We were extremely happy with the teachers and staff and were very saddened that St. George's will be closing it's doors after so many years.
As a former staff member the turn over is not due to military employees. It is due to passive/aggressive management. They do not support the moral of their staff and at one point when entering my day on the community bulletin board was an announcement how the preschool would be closed for the summer. I was surprised in my experience usually there are meetings of the staff and admin. to discuss all pertinent issues that affect the staff, community, and students. My head was in a constant spin when working there!
My youngest currently attends St. George 2 yr old pre-K program. It has been a good fit for her. We love Ms Mindy and Ms Mo! They are the best! The admin seem to be on the ball; although may be a little passive for my tastes. The school does TONS of fundraisers (frustrating as I'd rather pay a couple bucks more at the beginning of the year). My only 'real' complaint is the high turn over in teachers. Although this is due to mostly hiring military spouses, it means lots of changes. Due to this I'm not sure if my daughter will return there next year or not.
St. George's is a wonderful school that understands the unique needs of military families as well as civilian families. The teachers and administration are caring, well educated, and dedicated to providing a great experience for the children and families. My son attended two years and left the school ready for Kindergarten and well ahead of some of his peers in Kindergarten.
My daughter is currently attending the pre-K class at St. George's and attended the 3 yr old preschool class last year. I would highly recommend this preschool, it is, in my opinion, reasonably priced, and the teachers and staff are truly caring and love the children. I can see where my daughter is learning more every day and I feel she will be well prepared to start kindergarten next year.
my daughter has been at st. george's for a year and a half. she is starting preK. i am very happy with this school. in addition to their curriculum based program they have gone above and beyond to accomodate my daughter's food allergies. they take her allergies as seriously as i do.
