Our son is finishing up his 2nd year (age 4) here and we could not be HAPPIER! His first year (age 3) was excellent with tons of art and play time. Teachers for both years have been very engaged and always eager to talk to and to listen to us. At parent conferences, it is clear that they are aware and track student's DAILY progress and activities balancing fun with learning! Tuition covers many field trips, lunch & snacks. Extra opportunities like learning Mandarin and extra music classes are available too. There are a few fundraising efforts but never pressured. Special events like student bake sale and a cardboard boxcar "race" add extra fun for the keiki. The PTA is attended by most every parent and holds an event every half-year. I've found the administrators to be very engaged, always smiling, and seem to know every child's name. The buildings are aged and well-worn in some areas inside and out but each classroom has a playful feel with natural light. Terrific large playground! Overall, our son has been very loved and learned many things beyond my expectations for a 3 and 4 year old. We are confident he'll be extremely prepared for his school years ahead!
My child had a great first year as a 3 year old and compelety loved scholl However, this past year was horrible for my child. The teachers weren't caring or nurturing towards my child at all. My child now hates going to school. The director is a flake and bascially ignored me when I voiced my concerns about my child's teachers. My child will not be attending this school next year. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.
Queen Emma Preschool has enriched and changed my son's and our lives for the better. The teachers are so so very patient and kind. My son can be bluntly a naughty boy and they don't ever lose their cool and are understanding and kind toward him. I am also very pleased with how they handle children falling and hurting themselves. They provide a thorough, written accident report everytime as well as call me each time something happens. They take care of the cut or scrape right away. As far as field trips my son has gone to all age appropriate places: Leaping Lizards, the Pumpkin Patch, and Kualoa Ranch. They also have water play during the summer time and had a snow day in February where the children get to dress in warm clothes and play in what was really shave ice but actual snow trucked in. The director is very kind and thorough and all staff are knowldgeable about my son and his whereabouts and even his personality. This is an excellent school. The top! You will not be dissapointed and tyou will be thrilld that you sent your child here.
I am so glad we sent our daughter to Queen Emma Preschool. She has been here 2 years and she has grown so much. The school on the outside looks like a big house and on the inside your child is treated like family. The teachers are the best I've seen. We are so sad to leave when she goes to Kindegarden!
I'm so glad I took a friend's advice and sent my daughter here. She Loves it! She asks to go to school on the weekends as well. The teachers are patient and kind. I believe it starts with the principal/director Susan, who genuinely cares for each child as well as the school in general. The facilities may not be the newest, but I am totally satisfied that I made the right choice.
