KCAA Wai-Kahala has been the best preschool for my child, my sisters two children and three of my neighbors. I disagree with the post that someone's child got hurt and nothing was done. The staff do Injury reports for anything minor to first-aid and calling parents for injuries. The director has called me several times about a boo-boo. Everyone has been so great and the daily notes, newsletter, memo's and even the Alert Now has been a great way to communicate with parents. Keep up the good work KCAA staff and director.
My husband and I have nothing but nice things to say about this wonderful preschool. Our 4 year old son has been there for two years, and our daughter, now in 2nd grade, also went there. We found it to be a very nurturing, involved preschool. The teachers are extremely caring, and the new director is really active and involved. The May Day celebration was a wonderful example of parents and teachers working together to put on a memorable experience. The location is great, with a great big shady playground area with lots of room to run around and play. We are very happy here and will be sad when our son graduates!
Please please please find another school if you are considering sending your child to this awful school! My husband and I both did not have very good intuition after we had met with the director and teachers of the 2 year olds. We should have listened to our gut instinct. Teacher/parent communication is lacking (there is none) both teachers are mean and do not seem to enjoy the young 2's. The school's philosophy is more about washing hands and being on time to drop your child than to teach/nurture your child. Parents were judged verbally when I came for the meet and greet day. My son came home with a very bad injury and they acted as if they did not know about it! If they did not know when there was only 11 kids that day, there is negligence and my baby was not being looked after. The damage done was severe. I am so glad we withdrew him and found a much better pre-school. The director was also very unprofessional and had no idea how to handle my son's mystery injury situation. There are better pre-school's here, don't make the mistake my husband and I did. I hope this helps. Aloha.
