Last summer we were desperately looking for a school that would stimulate and engage our VERY active son. A friend suggested Montessori, and when I saw this new school opening up, I felt the urge to see what it was about. Meeting the director, I knew that the Montessori environment was for our son. He is flourishing here! He is able to work at his own pace. He is treated with respect, and allowed choices to strengthen his self-confidence, and socialization. The staff is extremely patient, and cares for each and every child. The staff's communication with the parents was vital to us, and they have maintained an open line of communication through out the entire year. The academic he is learning have really impressed us, and the practical life skills has allowed our child to channel his never-ending energy in a positive way. We LOVE this school!
After visiting several Montessori schools in the Atl area, we were so pleased to meet everyone this school. It was the first time a director had really taken the time to help explain the curriculum & show us what a day in the class would be. We could see the dedication and passion for teaching & desire to help children grow based on their indiv. needs and we were right! Both my kids are enrolled in the school - 1 in the primary class and 1 in the toddler class. The have both grown and flourised in the environment. I am continually amazed a the concepts my 5 year old is grasping like multiplication & recognizing countries on the world map. The staff is loving to the kids and always open to discussing my children's needs . We simply could not be happier and highly recommend the school!
Montessori School at Lilburn has exceeded our expectations! They are so wonderful about paying close attention to the needs of each individual child. This is no cookie-cutter education! My child was given extra help with his motor skills and has made tremendous progress. I have seen him absolutely blossom from being shy and withdrawn to making friends readily. And that's without even touching academics! In what would be a pre-k situation, we didn't anticipate that academics would really be touched. Imagine my surprise when my (pre-k aged) son looked at the Christmas tree atop of Stone Mountain and said, 'that Christmas tree is a square based pyramid.' He knows the names of his muscles from Stretch -n- Grow, an included physical education program. They also teach Spanish during school and offer an extra-curricular art program. We are truly grateful to the wonderful staff at Montessori School at Lilburn!
