This school truly has a staff that cares about its students. Everyone is working hard and coming together as a team. As a result, this school went from 58% of its students scoring a passing score or above on the FCAT writing last year (2007) to 71% of its students scoring a passing score or above. Keep up the good work Thompson Magnet Teachers, and staff!

The school has a new principal, and a new vision, and with this new expectations from teachers, parents, and students. The principal has her hands tied knowing that individuals are against her and not with her. In order for this school to become successful everyone needs to be proactive. Instead of saying negative things, participate to make this a better school. The new teachers are providing more disclipline for the students who are lacking in this department, they certainly don't get any disclipline at home. Without disclipline it is difficult to manage a classroom full of students. I am positive that this school will continue to see improvements, I've already see it already. Either you participate to make this a better school, or you reserve your negative attitudes. As the phrase goes 'Put up or shut up.'

the school needs to focus on the students needs and help support them instead of continually putting them down. and get teachers in there who know how to handle them and a principle to do the same.

The school itself has poor management. There are behavior problems due to lack of parent involvement and poor leadership. The teachers hands are tied in reference to doscipline and classroom management. Parents do not respect the education that students receivem constantly bringing kids late, signing them out early, disrespecting dress codes.

I had the pleasure of visiting this school and I thought the teachers were extremely qualified and were helpful in making my decision to send my son to this school. The technology in this school was unbelievable. The students seemed willing and ready to learn.
