I have been meaning to write this review for a long time. I am a very protective mother and was very choosy about where I wanted to send my then 3-year-old daughter for school. I was very hesitant about the entire experience, but everyone at Primary Prep was wonderful. It brought my shy daughter out of her shell. The teachers are very knowledgeable and thoughtful. They're very patient with little ones and their accidents. They have a great curriculum where they learn about different letters and subjects throughout the months. I am so glad I made the decision to send her here. It was priceless.
My sons went to PP-I taught for 10 yrs. as well. I have two VERY active boys who are disciplined at home when they are in trouble at school. The comm. from PP was EXCELLENT; we acted as partners in our child's development. If there was an occasion that I needed to be contacted @my son's behavior, I used it as a learning experience rather than blaming the school. Often, just following up on their strategy was sufficient in guiding their behavior in an appropriate direction. If you slam the kids teachers on the way out of the parking lot, chances are they aren't going to learn to respect their teachers and will respond accordingly. If it weren't for the valuable input from Jan & staff, and their rec. that we get more evaluation- my sons would not be where they are today. Academically and behaviorally successful. I am grateful!!!
Can not say enough good things about Primary Prep! Our twins both started Kindergarten with the confidence and skills to help them excel. Both were recognized as outstanding readers and one of them was the top AR student in all of K. The individual attention they received at Primary Prep helped build a foundation that will last a life time.
As first time parents, my wife and I did all our homework on where to send the "most amazing child in the world". Having been raised in Panama City, I had plenty of people to grill on where my child would get the best head start. The only people I asked that didn't have wonderful things to say about Primary Prep were people that had never heard of it. Now, two years later, we have enrolled the "second most amazing child in the world" and couldn't be more pleased! Our oldest son reads better at five than I read in the fifth grade. The way they teach builds confidence and makes learning fun. They take pride in my children and I love that!!! Thank you Primary Prep for taking such good care of my children and for helping prepare them for the rest of their lives.
My daughter attended this school and it was a great experience. Mrs. Blei was WONDERFUL! She gave my daughter lots of love and attention when she was painfully shy after negative experiences at other day care centers. My daughter was an excellent reader and well prepared for Kindergarten. In fact, she was one of the best readers in her class her first year of school. They have great communication with parents and work as a team to help your child be the best they can be. We still visit regularly because Mrs. Blei was such an important part of our lives. Do not believe the negative comment posted earlier.
I have to agree that the negative comment posted below should be considered anything but the norm. I interviewed many schools & spoke with family & others in the community before making the decision to enroll my daughter & without fail, I was told that Primary Prep was a true investment in my child's future. And they have not let me or my daughter down. Jan Hodges, the owner and the teachers are committed to every child s development and early learning. Parents can rest assure that these certified, qualified and caring teachers partner with families and Parent's agressively partner with the school. My daughter has a great RESPECT for her teachers and her family which translates into learning more each day. I, too, am very proud to promote this school every chance I get because I believe in them and Primary Prep's learning and development program.
The negative comment posted below should be considered anything but the norm. I think most parents who review this school - and talk with community members - will conclude what every parent at this school already knows: Primary Prep is a true investment in a child's future. My husband and I have careers and we do not have the luxury to stay at home and work with our children. Jan Hodges, Primary Prep owner, and the teachers are committed to every child s development and early learning. Parents can rest assured that these certified, qualified and caring teachers partner with families. We had social issues with our daughter, but we aggressively partnered with the school. The result is a well adjusted child with tremendous cognitive and verbal abilities. I proudly promote this school every chance I get because I believe in them and Primary Prep s learning and development philosophies.
It saddens me that a parent would post the above comment about such an outstanding school. Primary Prep and all the teachers helped and coached me through a very difficult process of introducing my youngest daughter to a school enviroment. They helped me realize that I had to be in partnership with them to help my daughter, and by working with them and not against them we did it. All the teachers as well as the owner always had words of encouragement for me. Not once was there a lack in their communication with me. Their disciplinary process is always very carefully thought through. Thank you Mrs. Hodges, Mrs. Blei, Miss Spencer and Ms. Spencer for your dedication in preparing our children for their future.
I m the mother of two children, one of whom has attended Primary Prep. My younger child will attend as soon as she turns 3. For my son, the atmosphere at this school was perfect. He is shy and he greatly benefitted from the warm and loving demeanor of the teachers. His social skills multiplied and so did his reading. He came home everyday excited to read me a new book. When I first saw this school I was drawn to it because the overall behavior and attitude of the children was amazing. I was recommended to this school by many of my friends because of the wonderful staff. Once I enrolled my child I got to see for myself just how wonderful they were. I would recommend this school to anyone and I can t wait to send my daughter there when she is old enough.
I sent my children to Primary Prep precisely because they have standards of acceptable behavior for the children. It is a prep school and the children graduating from there are prepared extemely well, not only academically but socially. I asked 6 different kindergarten teachers where to send my children. Without exception, they all said Primary Prep School.
