My kids are in their second year there, and I plan to send my third next year. Great school, loving environment, actually appreciate all the rules they have (which were lacking at their previous preschool.) Great playground, loving teachers, no regrets.
Don't let the looks of this charming little school fool you - having my child here was the worst experience ever. They nickel-and-dime you to death, charging you for everything under the sun. They also have so many rules and regulations that it becomes a stifling environment rather than a "loving" one as they claim to have. Also - if your child requires special needs, PLEASE CONSIDER ANOTHER SCHOOL!! The teachers really don't want to be bothered with kids who require extra attention and they make sure to do everything they can to get "problem children" out of their school if you don't get their issues taken care of right away . . . Needless to say, I was NOT happy with this school at all.
I love the school setting (like a hidden nest behind the church protected by beautiful oak trees) and the class environment but most importantly I am very pleased with the teachers. Both of my sons in PK3 and Kinder enjoy their learning, and look forward to their interaction with classmates and teachers. My sons articulate how their teachers care about them and I can notice how nurturing they are in many ways. My sons have made a lot of progress during the schoolyear 09-'10. Keep it up!
I have had my 2 children in this school for 2009/10 school year. I have been very happy with the teachers and admin of the school. The previous review failed to mention that a child with problems can mean the teacher is having to spend a lot of time with that particular student, so is not fair for the rest of the class. It can cause a lot of disruption to the class, as was the case with a student in my son's class. My children are loving their time here, it is a very caring and loving environment. The after care program is run very well, and is such a handy extra, especially for parents with kids at Pinecrest Elementry.
My 4-yr old started school for the first time here and they were very good about noticing some learning deficits he had right away. They offered advice and resources, which helped alot, but when my son continued to have problems, the teacher really didn't give much effort in helping him overcome his frustrations in class. Eventually, my son's frustrations became worse (along with mine) and I had to remove him from the school. It was very disappointing, to say the least, because I felt that the teacher didn't want to be bothered with a child who required a little more attention than the average child.
I am looking to move to Florida in the next few... (0 replies)
