I have nothing but great things to say about the school and the staff here at Aventura Montessori. My daughter started here when she was just under 3 and her experience was absolutely delightful. She attended for 4 years, including kindergarten. I love their style of teaching. The results that were produced with my daughter's social and learning development were simply dramatic. Definitely recommend to others.

What is really important to me as a parent is that my child is receiving an excellent education, is being taught skills that will take him through life, and that he is in a safe and nuturing environment. I have met parents whose kids went to AMS and the feedback I hear is that their children are ahead of the game. I already see my child working above his age level. The school may not be new or have frills, but they have experience, the inside is clean, and full of materials. My only regret is that I did not put my child in earlier and wasted a year, plus they only go up to Kindergarten but better late than never! - See more at: http://pk.greatschools.org/school/parentReviews.page?id=5524&state=FL#sthash.TnlNv9Ho.dpuf

I am a parent who pulled my child out of AMS and I can tell you that my postings have been deleted twice by this "site." This site DOES not reflect real information by parents but mostly self-serving statements from the schools. So DO NOT trust the ratings. I had a terrible experience at AMS. They have a policy of punishing the parents and making them wait outside in the parking lot 30 minutes for being late. In addition there are many break- ins in the parking lot. The school is in a run-down area and there is a much better Montessori school just 3 miles north in Hollywood.

If you've got your priorities in order I think you will like this school for several reasons. First, the education- my child learns things that even I don't know sometimes. The children receive a well rounded education, they learn social skills, leadership skills, and independence. I also think the safety and organization is well planned. If you are one of those parents who is laid back you may have to adjust, but children need to learn discipline which is lacking so much these days. The school does not have an open door policy and to be honest I feel safer knowing that. I like that the playground is not visible from the street or parking lot and that the doors are always locked. The administration is experienced and helpful so whether I can have daily contact with the teachers or not I know my child is in good hands and my questions are always addressed in a timely manner so I can relax and go on with my day.

After visiting many pre-schools, I decided for this one and I am not sure how to rate it. It is not totally bad but there are some issues. The school is not good looking but that is not important. The playground is very nice though. My main concern with this school is that there is not contact with the teachers. Teachers do not receive the kids and they don t give them back to the parents. There is no little chat with them ever. You never know whether your kid did well or not because there is no communication with the teacher. Besides, teacher do not give their emails or phone number which most schools do. Basically, there is NO contact with your kid s teacher. Other issue very annoying for most parents is that this school is run like 20 years ago: they do not accept credit cards and they do not use emails for communication. Instead, they accept only check and they hand out notes daily with news, calendar, payment, etc. I live in a digital era, I want emails. I want to be able to have the notes in my phone available 24/7. My kid is happy there so I am happy but I really wish they can modernize a little bit and that I could have more communication with my kid s teacher.

*OUTSTANDING* Is the way to properly describe the curriculum of the AMS and the manner in which our twin 5 year olds have developed after attending Pre-K. Compared to other children their age from their former school who still do not read or even kindergarten or first graders who read at or below their level, I am even more amazed. Our children have just finished Pre-K and to put it in simple terms; are well over 1 year ahead of most students. While I give credit to my wife for the lessons at home, the foundation was 100% the result of Aventura Montessori and the amazing curriculum and the superb teachers who flawlessly execute it! Yes, the school may not be on a campus like setting in a formal atmosphere, but what goes on inside the classroom is all that matters. Children learn in a free, but structured environment which allows them to develop at an accelerated pace. Congratulations to Ms. Ali and her entire staff for a job very well done!!! We will miss you and each and every time our children read to us, rest assured that we will remember where that precious gift and so many other positive aspects of our twins development came from. You have all been remarkable!

This is a very good school. Its definitely not the owner writing the good reviews. You are 1 parent with a bad experience. I enrolled my daughter last year and am very happy with my decision. The school is super organized and the children are always engaged. The school is not a fancy one, but parents need to look beyond that. The education is really good. Many parents complain that they are very strict, but Its only in their policies not with the children. My daughter is super happy every time I drop her off and pick her up. I don't think all the teachers are highly qualified, but that is a common element among all the preschools around Aventura. At least here the principal does have a lot of experience and is able to guide them. This is what I like the most about the school, that the principal is involved and is constantly walking around the classrooms, knows whats going on, and is a true educator not only a business woman like in many other schools. I would really recommend this school.

My child is so excited to learn ever since we enrolled at the school. The school is much bigger once you go inside than it looks on the outside. Management is really organized and they make you feel comfortable and there is a good group of teachers. After worrying about where to put my child, I feel very relieved to have found this school.

I don't understand how this school has got 5 stars from some people, obviously it must be from the owner and her employees. They always have vacancies, that should tell you something, no one that cares about their child should send their kids there. They are way behind on academics compared to other montessori schools, not to mention that they hardly ever smile DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

After visiting many schools I decided on this one. Even though other schools may be more aesthetically appealing, the warm and positive vibes you receive upon walking through this school are unmatched. The children are happily and productively working away (an amazing thing to see), the noise level is low, the facility is clean, and organization is excellent. Every classroom was running so beautifully and the teachers looked efficient. Highly recommended.

This is such a nice school with great teachers and the owner is so helpful and warm. When I first saw the school I was concerned that I couldn't see a playground but be assured there is a large playground to the side. I feel very comfortable at this school and my child is always so happy and learning so many new things.

After moving to the area we placed our child in this school as this was the only one with vacancy. That should have been a red flag....Anyway it was not long before we realized that it was a big mistake. They have few teachers who are unable to provide your child with the loving care they deserve. The atmosphere is unfriendly. If you are greeted with a smile when you pick up your child it is a lucky day. Once a child had a diaper accident and I heard the owner call the parent in to pick up the child or have it changed...I am a little surprised and skeptical of the good reviews on this site.....some of the 5 stars are from the owner. The biggest drawback is the owner herself who is moneyminded and runs a business rather than a school.

We read the reviews and placed our child in the school. We realized later the reviews were not genuine. The teachers are overwhelmed and unable to provide attention. They do not report back or discuss your childs daily activities. Little attention is paid to nutrition. They do not supervise your childrens meal times. The cheese wrapper came back unopened for our child with her poor bite marks on it. It sickened us and we brought it to the owners attention but she was disinterested in it. Our child was never happy to go to this school even after a week though it usually took her no more than 2-3 days to adjust elsewhere. When asked why they could not allow a hot lunch catering service the manager mentioned that the service was not willing to share their profits with them hence the absence of warm meals at this school. We promptly took our child out within 10 days and lost 2 months of fees which the manager flatly refused to refund. Beware parents and do your background research. There are many better schools and daycare centers and this is not the one you want for your loving child. Hope this helps to shed light on this school.

Ok, i must say that my child was so excited to go to school everyday!! If i see my child that happy about his school daily, then i know something must be going well. I think the teachers discipline well, and keep the class in order. They teach them how to pick up after themselves and manners. I find the noise level low which helps kids focus. I think the things they learn are amazing and advanced and you don't learn these things in regular preschools. The level of knowledge taught is broad, detailed, and very impressive. I don't think reading is strictly enforced and would like to see more time spent on teaching them to read well. But they catch up quick. The school is very organized and security is tight. You can speak to teachers fine, they just prefer appointments and not long conversations at the door while kids are walking in. I must say that the owner of this school is very impersonal and only cares about the money, which is unfortunate, but she's not my kids teacher so whatever. They are a little too strict with their rules toward parents , but besides that, great overall experience. and would recommend the school.

my daughter had a wonderful social and academic experience at AMS. her current montessori teacher commented on how well prepared she came to her new school. while there is not a lot of room for parent involvement at AMS, in hindsight i think it is a wise decision. while i do love being involved at my daughter's new school, there are far too many occasions and holidays to be involved -- to the detriment, i believe, of the children's academic growth. there are only so many hours in the school day, shortened further by lunch, outdoor play and the children's attention span. they need time to focus on their lessons and use the montessori manipulatives properly, hopefully growing their attention span over time. this could not happen if they were constantly distracted by parents and celebrations. there is plenty of opportunity to celebrate after school and at home. the teachers at AMS are ready to teach and they will most definitely prepare your children for a very successful educational journey.

This is a wonderful school. Small student-teacher ratios, warm atmosphere, overall a great experience. The only thing that would make me happier is if they offered grades above Kindergarten, then I wouldn't have to worry about where to go afterwards. But I know my child had a great start and has the foundation to succeed thanks to Aventura Montessori!

Unfortunately this is the only Montessori School near Aventura, you can not develop a relation with your child's teacher which I think is the worst rule in a school, it is very extrange that they do not celebrate any holiday when in other schools is a must do to interact with the parentsf, I found that the director never have an atention to their employees, no mothers day, forget about their birthdays, the teachers in general are nice but you can notice they work in a very frustrating enviroment and that is reflected in our kids, and if you want a healthy snack for your kid forget about this place! I'll find another place for my son.

I could not have asked for a better school for my child. Every morning she is excited to go to school and on weekends she's upset that school is closed. The exterior of the school is admittedly not impressive but it's what's inside that counts. The school is very clean, well organized, and the administration is diligent in addressing any concerns. I have only met the teachers from my child's class (as you can participate as a snack/story/project mom) and I found that teachers and students alike seemed happy to be there. There are rules to follow but I feel the rules keep things safe and running smoothly and it's not hard for the average person to follow. My child is learning and flourishing and growing into an independent, confident girl and I would suggest that any parent looking for a quality education should consider this school.

As far as this school goes my child goes here and Im about to take him out. My worst complaint is you may not speak with your child's teacher only in conference and no open door policy the door is closed at all times to expensive for so many rules. No celebration of any holidays, thanksgiving, heritage month etc. with so much diversity they dont teach culture at all. Some teachers are wonderful some not so great they can be rude and embarrass the child my son was crying during one incident....too many new schools in the area to enroll here do your research

If you are looking for a school for your child, I highly recommend you check out Aventura Montessori School. The outside appearance of this school may not appeal to you, but the school environment is amazing. The classrooms are very clean, neat, and orgainzed. The staff really care about the children. My child went to this school for one year and loved going to school everyday. We had an excellent experience with the staff, parents and children at Aventura Montessori School. My child has just started kindergarten at a public school and is well prepared academically and socially.

I have three children and all of them have attended Aventura Montessori and I can confidently say it has been a great experience for all three of them. The teachers have excellent methods of redirection and the director is open to feedback and very diligent in addressing any concern. My experience at Aventura Montessori has been excellent and I would recommend it.

My child has gone to this school for the past 2 years. Overall the shool is ok but the feedback on your child's development is severely lacking. Nobody wants to talk about your child's progress! You only get two opportunities for a conference to meet the teachers. Its so secretive and they really don't want to bother to talk with the parents about their children. I know that all Montessori schools should have an observation area so that parents can quietly observe their children whenever they want. They do not provide nor encourage parents to ovserve their children when that are working with the materials. This is frustrating and goes against the Montessori principles which include observation as an important facet of the method. Too bad they are the only Montessori school in the area because I would consider another one for my child if I had a choice.

The leadership of Ms.Ali (director) is well organized and efficient. The school definitely follows the philosophy of Maria Montessori. I feel like it is wonderful that my child is in a classroom with children of varying ages and is guided to learn not forced. I like the teachers a lot. The school does offer times when parents are able to be involved, however I feel the feedback of my child's progression is lacking. I don't like the fact that the teachers don't really talk to you about how your child's day went. OVERALL the good out weigh the bad by a lot. My child has been to daycare and we will NEVER go back. The school is a bit strict, but you and your child get used to it and realize that it is the best for them. My child has confidence and has learned great manners! she is flourishing there!

My children have been at the Aventura Montessori School for the past 3 years. I feel the director of the school and the teachers are amazing! They've created a warm and safe learning environment. Any questions or concerns I've had were addressed immediately. If you want to participate in your childs classroom experience you can. You can volunteer as story parent, science parent, and/or art parent. I see how much my children have flourished accademically and I credit alot of their success to the Aventura Montessori School. The school relocated last year and the transition seemed effortless. My children wake up in the morning excited to go to school. They are anxiously awaiting for this school year to begin. My children and I have been very happy with the Aventura Montessori School.

Okay, so it's great that the ratio is small, the organization is impeccable, and everyone is smiling. However, it's different once you pay. I have talked to over 14 mothers here in Sunny Isles and Aventura, Fl who agree: Once you have paid, the directors and teachers try to make you feel as if you should be grateful they even let your child attend the school. You can't ask any questions about the days activities or what's next. They hand you a calendar and say bye. My child was in trouble for pulling a string off his towel and playing with it, they should know a string is a toy in a childs eyes and let him put it away.

Aventura Montessori has been an incredible learning experience for my children. I was a little nervous about choosing a Montessori school over other types of pre-schools- but wow- what a great decision it has been! When it came time to choosing a school for my 2nd child- it was a sure choice Aventura Montessori. The children eagerly get ready for school, are very happy upon returning home from the day- and I really can see the growth. It is a very secure, clean, and safe environment; and, extremely conducive for learning. I feel I have given my 2 children the best start they could ever possibly have. The school moved down the street just this past year- and it has been a seamless transition for the kids and the parents! Thanks to Aventura Montessori for all you have done for us!

My daughter has been going there since she was 3 years old. Its excellent in terms of teacher-student ratio and the attention the teachers give the students. My child was reading by the time she turned 4. This is our 3rd year here, my daughters in kindergarden and I am a little upset that they don't have 1st grade and up.

We enrolled our first born at Aventura Montessori after having terrible experiences at other preschools. It turned out to be the best decision we have ever made. My first born stayed through Kindergarten and we would have kept her there through many more years if that would have been an option. She was reading and doing arithmatic by 4 years old. Now we are happy to add our second born to the Montessori Family. We feel like succesful parents in watching our children bloom and become succesful students. Thank You Aventura Montessori!!

My daughter has attended Aventura Montessori School since January 2002. It is a wonderful, loving environment with excellent teachers and an outstanding curriculum. She was a typical 3 year old in her development when she begun school, but after only 6 months she had advanced to this unbelievable intellectual, well mannered, eager to learn little person. Needless to say she loves school so much that at her recent birthday she wished for home-work books! The only sad part now is that the school ends after kindergarten and I don't know how I will be able to find a school compatible with this one for her to continue her education. But I thank all the teachers and staff at Aventura Montessori School for your dedication and giving my daughter the best possible first education experience she could have.
