Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

My child entered the 9th grade at Calvary for the school year 2011/2012. He/she had an amazing year. I honestly can not think of one negative issue we had. There was one or two small issues that came up during the year, but the administration handled it quickly and efficiently. This school truly cares about all their students and treats them fairly and with respect. The communication with the parents and students is incredible. The academics are challenging and it gives the students many opportunities to acquire college credit. Calvary makes your child feel good about themselves and promotes good Christian morals. We came from another private school( Saint Paul's). Wow! What a difference with schools. Calvary actually cares and will make changes for the better. They will listen and will make sure your child has a healthy learning environment. They will respect the hard work and effort your child gives to their studies. Calvary's tuition is almost half the cost. I would recommend this school to anyone that wants their child to have an excellent education, fabulous facilities and equipment, a fantastic staff/administration, parent involvement with a Christian atmosphere.Thank you CCHS

Having been a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1973, I recently joined the staff of Calvary Christian High School. It has been an honor to serve Christ in an environment where He is exalted daily. The students of Calvary are respectful and academically gifted. Each student is encouraged to reach his/her maximum potential. Our students can earn college credit while taking AP classes on our campus. The remarkable staff of CCHS develops a personal relationship with the students. This helps to create a warm family atmosphere. I would like to invite you to come for a visit. Join us and see for yourself what God is doing at Calvary Christian High!

Though there are some bad reviews for this school I believe this school is incredibly exceptional. This school has changed so much from the school it used to be and it can only be the work of God. I m in my sophomore year at Calvary and i cant picture myself anywhere else but here. The teachers take time to make sure you are following along with the lesson and even to make sure you are on the right path spiritually. I currently mentor with two teachers and i couldn't ask for a better blessing. The administration truly cares about you as a person. At Calvary you aren t just a number your a person. The academics at Calvary and just challenging enough that when I go home everyday i can actually look back and say that I learned something that will help me in my future. Calvary is unique in that you get to dive into Gods word on a daily basis with some of the best Bible teachers you can get. I ve grown so much in my spiritual walk while at Calvary. I would recommend this school to anyone who wants to get a good Christian education.

As a former teacher in both public and private Christian schools, I can honestly stay the Christian education my two children are receiving at CCHS can not be matched at any other school. The administration knows each child by name and cares about their success both academically and spiritually. Students are challenged no matter what their academic level. When choosing between PHUHS IB program and CCHS, CCHS won hands down for both of our children. I would not dream of our children attending any other school in the county.

As a parent of two alums and an incoming freshman for the 2011-2012 school year our family is blessed to have CCHS as a Christian High School in our community. High school is a growing time for our youth. They struggle at home and school as they continue to define who they are as an individual. Calvary partners with the home in the development of our youth. Academically I am very pleased with where our students are accepted and attend. Athletically our family has and will continue to have the opportunities to compete and experience a diverse offering of sports. Spiritually they are encouraged and nutured in their faith. Comparisons of Christian Schools to Public schools can only go as far as the classroom. God is gone from the school and sports are on par with public schools (subjective to size of school and purpose, experience of athlete vs. did they play at the next level). Choice, What is Your Criteria?

I am a former alum from Calvary Not worth your time. I strongly recommend Palm Harbor U as a better alternative. Look at the IB program. The best of PHU make Calvary's best look like a joke. Compare the amount of Ivy League atendees, SAT/ACT scores, sports, or pretty much anything, and PHU always is superior. CCHS did NOT prepare me or my peers properly for college. Once again, any advanced program at any of the local public schools is far superior. Especially PHU's programs.

Best Christian High School in all of Pinellas County. I have two children attending this school and have been thoroughly impressed. I would venture to say that other posters don't like having to follow the rules that they agreed upon when enrolling in this school. The Administration is doing a phenomenal job of making major improvements to the school the past two year! Teachers are exceptionally caring. Strong Biblical integration in every subject.

I agree and disagree to some of the statements. The teachers show favoritism, which angers me, even if it is me. The kids are misbehaved, and when something bad happens, they have a 'Holier Than Thou' attitude. I really don't care if I get expelled for this. I'm just voicing my opinion. The teachers are caring, yes, but they are also strict at frequent interrupters, even when they do nothing. While the students can be mean, they are at the same time sympathetic and caring, but can also be hypocritical. Only go here if you have a discount.

I have taught at this school for nearly five years. I am shocked at the two postings thus far. The administration and teachers all care so much for each students spiritual, educational, and physical well being. The teachers are well qualified, and professional. Please come visit this school and see for yourself. I am confident you will be impressed.

Stay away from this school. They are judgemental, they show favoritism kids that are recruited. They have a revolving door of teachers - NO GUIDANCE COUNSELER - and do not know what they are doing. Do not even think about sending your child here. It is a mistake.

The school has changed for the worse since the change in administration. The new administration shows little regard to the needs of the students and care more about rules. The administrators make it hard for the teachers to do their jobs. Until they get their problems straight, I would recommend as the person before me. Save your money and go to public school.

One of the worst schools in Pinellas County. Teachers are low caliber administration is even lower. Look for a public school and save your money.
