My child just recently started at this school. I enrolled her because of the rave reviews. I am starting to second guess my decision. The director is wonderful and loves what she does. I find that a couple of the teachers have attitudes that should not be shared with the parents and try limit conversations about your child to a minimum. I had one teacher today give me an attitude from the moment I said hello. Makes me wonder how she is treating my child. Some of the other teachers seem wonderful and caring but of course there is always one bad apple in the bunch. It just seemed that when this school was introduced to us it was one way and now it's another. I worked at another pre-school that was wonderful and I saw how much time the teachers spent talking to parents about their children no matter how busy classes were. These were classes of 24 children at times. No parent was made felt like they had to be rushed away or dismissed if they had a question. This was how I was made feel in this school. Again, this does not speak of the whole school just particular teachers. If it happens again we will be sending our child to Mother Goose in South Windsor.
This is a wonderful preschool. My son attended for 2 years. He grew socially as well as academically and was extremely well prepared for Kindergarten. Poquonock Playschool provides a fun learning experience and the teachers are warm and caring. My daughter is now in the 3 year old program and absolutely loves it.
I have a daughter in the school and she has grown so much in the last year writting her name and recognizing letters she wants to learn and she loves to go to school.
