My wife and I searched long and hard for a child care for our son. When she found Kinder-Garden Learning Center it was a breath of fresh air. The director, teachers and helpers love the children and families like they are part of their own family. Combine this with the learning activities all children have at this center and it could not be beat. The children are so smart for their ages. From the infants fingerpainting to the nursery school students reciting facts about the rainforest. We were impressed. He has now been at this school for over 3 years and we could not be happier with our decision to enroll him at KGLC. We are confident that he is ready for kindergarten and beyond. He routinely talks about his friends and the things he has learned at "school". Both my wife and I were lucky enough to volunteer at the center a few times over the years. When you watch the interactions between staff and the children, you know that they are loved and cared for as if they were the teacher's own children. KGLC was the right decision for us!
My daughter attended for a few months and I'm glad to say she is no longer there. Her diapers were not changed after two o'clock. She would get rashes, and once I saw one if the aides change my daughter's diaper without wiping her. They are so focused on squeezing every dime out of parents, that caring for babies fall second. The young aides have no clue about how to take care of babies/toddlers. LATE FEES ARE RIDICULOUS. Our new daycare were shocked at the late fees this place charges. I did absolutely love her teacher Ms. Sylvia, she did go above and beyond. The others could care less.
I have been in a parent and a teacher for many years. I can honestly say that when I had my daughter enrolled in KGLC I knew that she was not only in wonderful hands but loving hands. As a teacher myself I actually borrowed some of the same ideas and emplimented them into my own class room. The center is family owned and many times you will find both the husband and wife playing with the children. It's a wonderful feeling to see such dedication to all of their students who are treated as their own children.I would highly recommend KGLC.
My daughter has gone to this daycare center for close to 2 years now (from 3 months old. She's just over 2 now.) We love it. She gets very good care and I feel I can trust the people that care her everyday. They are very focused on education. Your child will not simply be 'watched', but they will be nurtured and they will grow. I've never had an issue where I've been treated badly by the owners. On the contrary, they are very invested in the families that have children there. We recently moved and are 20 minutes away from KGLC but I couldn't move my daughter.
This learning center is much more than a day care. It is a loving family that treats every person like part of their family. I have had 3 children attend this center over the years. It is easy to say that this is a great place because of the hundreds of students I have witnessed loving, laughing and learning their way through preschool. I know how well prepared my children were for elementary school and listen to their stories of what they'd learned at KGLC. This place is just great!
My child moved from the infant room to the toddler rooms and while the teachers are very nice and the children learn a lot, parents are not always treated very well by the owners. They nickel and dime you for every minute you're late even in bad snowstorms when you have no control of how fast you can reach the center. They don't even ask how rough is it out there, they salute you with you're these many minutes late and it will cost you this much. There is no cap in late fees so in bad weather either risk losing your life rushing to get to the center or risk losing your job for missing work so you don't end up paying exhuberant late pick up fees. It is shameful parents are treated this way because the curriculum and teachers are very good.
I searched for a preschool/daycare center for my niece and found KGLC. The moment I walked in I loved it and so did she. The school is year-round, including K. They have field trips and learn things that public school don't teach until the 1st grade. The staff is wonderful and my niece learns in Spanish and English. I wish this school was straight through 5th grade because I feel extremely comfortable allowing my niece to be there. My niece is well prepared for 1st grade but she and I will miss KGLC. They have music, art and Spanish lessons and parents have to be involved because of the weekly homework assignments.
