I am convinced there is no better school then Darcey, the staff, teachers, IA's, the principal are all the most amazing people I've ever met. I wish my children could go here forever. No cons - just about 100 pro's. The perfect early learning enviornment. My children have soared thanks to Darcey school.

Darcey is a half day kindergarten. The classes are a nice size (my child has about 17 children in it). My child is there this year and is meeting with great success. The teachers are all very experienced and wonderful. The principal is welcoming and keeps the parents informed of all aspectes of school happenings. I am very pleased with my child's experience at the Darcey School.

Kindergarten is 2-1/2 hours a day. Once a week the children have each of these activities: art, music, gym and library. My daughter's class creates picture books of their own drawings on various themes with some words to introduce writing. They are encouraged to sound words out and there is not much emphasis on writing words completely. There is a snack time and then a quiet reading time each day where the children select a book to look at by themselves. In warmer seasons this time is used for outdoor recess. The day is structured by a routine of going over class attendance, a theme, and the days of the month where some basic counting and addition is factored in. Parents are encouraged to participate in seasonal parties by being helpers, baking or donating items. There are also occasional field trips.
