Both of my children went to Boulder Knoll Montessori for three years, and thrived there. Each of my children had very different learning styles and social and emotional needs, and the nature of the Montessori classroom enabled them each to find what they needed at Boulder Knoll. The teachers range in experience, but the result is a combination of old school values, openness to new ideas and compassion for all kids. The children studies Chinese, practiced yoga and had "nature studies" in addition to their daily Montessori work. The new outdoor classroom is a great addition as well.

Great School. Both of my children went to this school Pre-K and were much further along in academics compared to the rest, when they went to 1st grade. Every child leaves the school with reading, writing and math skills comparable to mid/ end of 1st grade level. They also learn the more typical Montessori skills, like how to bake bread, cut fruit, tap maple syrup, gather eggs, names of plants and flowers, world continents, songs. They have an end of year play, and this year they sang songs. 'The 50 states song'(where they name all 50 states) and 'the bones song' (where they name the major bones in the body, like clavicle, vertebra, tibia, fibula, phalanges). These songs connected to study blocks of US geography and the human body. The kids loved these topics and are fascinated. I recommend this school without reservation.
