My son has been attending this school since April 2010. In just under a year he has learned to read (far above age level), count to 1000 and learned several words and phrases in Spanish, learned each continent, different cultures, health, the human body and life cycles. My son has occasionally "tutored" other children in reading, and not because he's a know-it-all, but because his teachers know that there is a lot to learn in teaching someone else. He does have us, his parents and other family members, who encourage his learning. The tuition may seem steep compared to other schools, but when it comes to proper education it is difficult to put a price tag on it. As for the parent, who felt her son didn't receive what he needed, perhaps it was not the school that didn't fit your son's needs, perhaps your son needed a different environment to feel comfortable learning. Quick note, you misspelled, 'particular' and 'disappointing.' I am not criticizing your intelligence. I am, however, making the point that each person learns differently in different environments. Some reap more benefits, where others struggle.

For much less money your child could learn much more amount at a different school. We have always been great advocates of the Montessori teaching program, but this peticular school does not seem to really adopt the philosophy. Yes, during his time there our son had a wonderful time playing, but that isn't what we were paying for. He didn't know any of the Montessori tools which he should have known all about. Disappoing doesn't begin to describe our experience with this particular school. However, we started him in a different Montessori and he has been improving daily which we are, obviously, very pleased about.

You cannot beat the quality of the teachers and staff here! They are an amazing, brilliant , happy and cohesive group. The building is beautiful and has a lot of natural light. They cater to each kid (from the gifted to the child that needs more attention and redireciton). The kids have a great time learning and they have a great time just being a kid too. They offer extra activities such as art, Mad Science, sports, music, even chess. I think it's a very warm and inviting atmosphere. There are times that the school is very quiet times when the kids are doing their individual work and other times when you can't hear yourself because there is so much laughter going on. My son loves it!!!! We have decided to stay for Kindergarten because he is doing so well and likes it so much. I couldn't be happier!
