My daughter began preschool at ABN a few months before she turned three. She remained at Julie’s school until kindergarten, and can say wholeheartedly that choosing ABN was one of the best decisions my husband and I have made for our daughter so far.
My daughter grew a great deal socially at ABN. She entered the school as a shy child who was wary of sharing, and today at age five, she is confident, caring, and generous toward her friends and acquaintances. I contribute a great deal of her generosity and confidence to her years at ABN. As a younger student, she had older friends to help her and look up to, and as an older student, she was able to help and care for the newer members of the class. She knows how to share well and is eager to help other children. She has even began to practice her drawing and writing more by taking requests for pictures from her friends and helping them write their names!
Furthermore, my daughter has advanced academically at ABN. As she showed signs of readiness, at ABN she learned how to write letters, the sounds they make, and how to write numbers. She tested into DPS advanced kindergarten. Most importantly, though, Julie encourages a sense of curiosity, wonder, and joy in the children. I believe that ABN is a place where my child has learned to love learning.
This place is a gem. We feel so fortunate to have found a place in our neighborhood with such a wonderfully rich and supportive environment. Our kids have continued to develop, grow, and learn at ABN. I've found myself shocked at the things they know...singing songs in French, counting in Japanese, scientific knowledge, vocabulary, etc. They get tons of personal attention because there are only 8 children there. ABN has surpassed our expectations this year, and we are forever grateful. Julie really cares about the students, communicates on a daily basis, and the other families who send their kids here are wonderful, too. This place has a real community feel, and we love being a part of it. Our kids are happy and excited to go to school each day. Can't ask for more than that!
My son attended ABN for close to a year. It was his first experience in preschool, and it was an excellent one for him. The teacher puts together monthly lesson plans and offers a strong age-appropriate educational program. The kids learn lots of songs and do performances for holidays. The play area, toys and resources are all amazing.
My son attended ABN for two years and we love the school. The care and attention he received was really amazing. It's a small school, only 12 students or so, so he developed some deep relationships. His language skills are amazing and that's something I was concerned about when we first started. Wonderful, creative and fun.
