I am extremely pleased with our experience at Willow Learning Center! My daughter LOVES it there! The teachers a great and they really care for the kids a lot. The swimming lessons are amazing, there's even a pool right there on site! I'm just really pleased with those guys and we love it so much we're going to put our second child in there too! -Scott F.
School was good but the management was disappointing. Very poor communication with parents and after having an accurate bill for months I was told I needed to pay hundreds in late fees while the bill was corrected. I will NOT be sending my child back and would not recommend this school based of this.
Unfriendly director, and the kids routinely watch movies or cartoons in the afternoon. Much better options in the community.
I have had two children through the Willows and loved it !! My kids thrived there and loved all the teachers. The front staff was helpful and tended to all of my needs. It was a nice balance of academics and center time and gross motor skills. I would highly recommend this center to everyone. Also their summer program is outstanding and my kids enjoyed the swimming and the hikes, and the biking and the camping. What a cool opportunity for the older kids to have during their summer break.
Over the past two years I have put my son through the Pre-K and Kindergarten programs, and currently have my daughter enrolled in the pre-school program. I have enjoyed watching my children grow emotionally & academically. The teachers and staff are kind, communicative & have far exceeded my expectations. My son was no where near ready to start public school, but thanks to the dedication of the Willows staff he is now at the top of his class. A couple of my favorite things about the Willows is that all food and field trips are included in the tuition (Which saves me from ever having to pack their lunches!), & the entire staff genuinely cares for each and every child. I absolutely recommend this facility!
As a parent and a former teacher I am sad to say I would not recommend this preschool. We are very disappointed with the progress my child made in the 2nd year. Green room had 45 kids with 4 teachers! Over crowded and teachers are not able to get to every child if they need help. They don't let parents volunteer to come in and help (red flag)! I would recommend asking to observe before you make a decision. We basically wasted a year of tuition. We also did the swim lessons and I ended up pulling my child out, because they had 6 different instructors in 6 weeks! Even after parents complaining, nothing was done. Very disorganized and disappointing.
I am a retired Administrator of a public Preschool Program. After observing this program for the past two years I will have to state that it was mediocre experience for my two grandchildren. There was a vast difference in the first year and the second . This year the room appeared not to have enough space to support safety and optimize learning activities. The facility is old/dark and does not invite sunshine into the respective work spaces. Too much emphasis was placed on completing pre-printed work sheets. Little time was spent on creative activities. The swimming program was a huge disappointment this summer. Observing lessons through the holes in the fence 50% of the time the instruction was an F-. I was disappointed overall and would tell parents to shop around for a better experience.
My daughter just started and absolutely loves her teachers and swimming. The teachers and receptionist have been warm and welcoming. However, sadly, the director has been incredibly unfriendly. She has never greeted me when I drop my daughter off, I actually had to ASK for a parent handbook! Being new to a school is always a little anxiety producing for a child, and the parent is no different. I think it is very important no matter what time of year that a child starts, the family should be treated with compassion and welcomed with open arms - like they are actually wanted there. So, obviously not a great 1st impression. But since my daughter is happy I will return later with another review.
My son was 6 and he went to the summer program and absolutely loved everything about the Willows. Mrs. Lynch was wonderful and the kitchen staff as well who worked with me on his food allergies. My son loved the field trips and swimming program.
The morning school programs are enriching for the children. After the school program is complete and full time children shift to daycare, the rest of the day is mediocre for childhood learning and development. The center has been open for a long time. The materials and tools show the age of the center and are not up to date. The rooms are very cramped and teachers do not have full visability of the students in the room.
