Wooden Shoe Pre-School

My two sons go to this school and have since they were one. I like the fact that the teachers have all been there 10 years or more, as well as how they relate to my sons. The front office knows my husband and myself by name and always greets people coming through the door. They have been flexible with our schedules when we need to add or drop a day, as well as allowing us to drop in once our boys start kindergarten and have those odd days off school. I especially like the two weeks vacation that Wooden Shoe allows. I don't think I have found that anywhere else. I love the variety of activities that they have: the music, art, cooking, and swimming programs are all top notch. The art show this year was really quite amazing and the semi-annual music programs are very entertaining.

I am a parent of two that are currently enrolled in Wooden Shoe. I am very proud to say that my children attend this day care partially because of the credibility that the school has among the front range. It is also comforting for me to know that the majority of the lead teachers in each classroom have been affiliated with the school of over 15 years. As a child I went to Wooden Shoe and still remember many of the same teachers who are there now. As far as the nutritional menu goes, i think it is reflective of that of how elementary, middle, and high school food is like. Personally, I would rather not take an increase in tuition in order for Wooden Shoe to be more 'healthy.' I love this school and I hope it will continue to be open long enough for other generations to enjoy.

To the parent complaining about food - I'm not crazy about everything they get there, but I realize this is the same stuff kids get in public school everywhere. The lunch menu reminds me of my own when I was growing up. I have 2 children who attend, and I am very pleased with the school. I have no doubt my eldest will be more than ready for kindergarten due to the excellent teachers and curriculum there. The music, gym, swimming and cooking classes are all excellent bonuses I am very glad children get to take advantage of here.

Wooden Shoes looks very old. They have nice class rooms and a indoor swimming pool. They say they have a nutritional menu. But When I was there kids were getting sugar on toast on white bread for breakfast. We all know growing kids need real food and not sugar which is pure poison to a child. They have no security measures at the front desk. You can easily walk in take a child and walk out. Which I did today with out any questions. Sure it was my own child. But they did not know me from Larry. My child just started there. Probably her last day also. I would take caution when choosing Wooden Shoe as I think they talk the talk but do not walk the walk. Needs updated food menus and security and background checks on their employees.

I was disheartened to read one of the reviews about Wooden Shoe. I am a public school teacher and my four children have all attended Wooden Shoe. I could not have been more pleased with the staff, curriculum, and facility. I have recomended countless parents to the Wooden Shoe and will continue to do so. The love, guidance and care is one of a kind that you will not find anywhere else.

My son has been going to the Wooden Shoe for a year now. The teachers are wonderful with the children and keep them engaged all day. My sons teacher has been with the school over 20 years. You can tell she loves the children and the school.

All three of our children have attended Wooden Shoe. We have experienced nothing but the utmost outstanding care. The teachers not only love the children, they have prepared them for public school. Our son is in accelerated classes! Gym and swimming are just a bonus. The school is FANTASTIC! We would not send our kids anywhere else.

My daughter has been going to Wooden Shoe for a year now and we love it. The staff is really great. They put on Spring and Winter school plays for each class. It is absolutely adorable. They have swimming for no extra cost, a huge gym and tons of big playgrounds. My daughter loves to go to school.

My experience with the Wooden Shoe, and I sent two boys to the school, was fantastic. They truly prepared both of my boys for public school. I think they were even a little ahead of the kids in the same grade. Great teachers, great staff, great school.

This is a terrible day care. I had my four year old son in this school, and he was treated terribly by the staff, and by his teachers. I felt that the teachers were un-professional
