My son attended his Pre-K year here, and is now in kindergarten. I feel he's at the top of his class, and Leap and Bound prepared him very well academically for kinder. Personally, I didn't like the daily schedule of starting the day with outdoor playtime then going through the academic curriculum followed by lunch and naptime. I would have preferred the day start in the classroom, recess, classroom, etc. I always stayed at drop off to make sure my 4-yr old son had someone to play with. That was my biggest issue, that all the teachers were on the playground observing, but no one took initiative to help my newcomer make a new playground friend. It broke my heart to leave with him just looking at the other kids playing. It took a little time, but he eventually made friends. Overall, I'd say if academics is your priority, Leap and Bound is a no brainer, do it! But, I'm on the fence enrolling my #2 as I really want her to be in a warm and nurturing preschool where teachers are more hands on with their students on and off the play yard.

No way, theres a big woman they use to mind control the children, when misbehaving, and i overheard her using a psychology tactic that a 3 yr old, cannot apply. Nope, not for me. The "writing class" was a mash fake playdoh session, that the consider strengthening of the muscles, and quite frankly, I call that crafts, but the intelligent child of mine, was absolutely bored. She would have preferred a pen.

We recently moved from Westwood to thr Southbay and were concerned about where our daughter, 3 at the time, would continue her first school experience. I narrowed it down to 2/3 and met with the staff. My husband and I had a great feelng and have not been disappointed. While her teacher, the staff and the owner ( very involved) have been wonderful, equally if not more important, is that Sophie is learning and having a lot of fun doing so. Our second will start in September and has already felt a part of it when he visits. This recommendation is not lightly made....this is an important decision as to how your child will view school.

Great school. Excellent learning program. In just 7 months my 3 yr old has excelled in tracing, social skills and writing his own name down. We are really happy with the school and the staff is really loving and caring. Their parent volunteer program is also great, it really helped me to get comfortable with the school. As a volunteer, I noticed that the safety is the #1 priority to the school. Even the volunteers ( who are under direct supervision of the staff and never left alone with kids) have to go through a complete live scan, a basic physical exam, and training so you know your kid is in safe hands. There are a lot of fun activities including music, art and especially the gardening. It's great for kids to have hands on experience to plant the seeds, water them and watch them grow and actually enjoy eating them as well. Their field trips are also really a lot of fun. Overall I would highly recommend all parents who are looking for quality education for their child to come check out the school. You can't go wrong with it.

Leap and Bound has done wonders with my son! He is an extremely picky eater and since they have started the lunch program, the teachers have done an AMAZING job in getting him to try different foods. I have always struggled with his eating habits, but I am so happy that they have taken the time to really focus and help me in this matter. I can't thank them enough and appreciate so much what they have done for him, not only with eating, but scholastically as well.

Love this school! We are very happy with experience at Leap and Bound in Torrance. We have so many compliments on their programs and special events. Our kids' teachers are very caring and know them well. The management has always been happy to answer our questions and really care about our kids. We love the monthly newsletters that keep us in the loop as to what is going on at the school. Most importantly, our kids love going to school and we are amazed at how much they are learning at such a young age. We give this school an A+!

My kids have had a wonderful experience at Leap and Bound. The school offers a great academic program along with so many extras. Each class has it's own garden, there is a wonderful science room where the kids gets hands on time with the animals, there are a number of field trips and in school special activities. I also love that they welcome parent volunteers. I have spent some time in my son's classroom and am so impressed with his teacher and her ability not only to teach but keep the kids excited about school. I could not be happier with the school!

I have three kids who have all attended Leap and Bound Torrance. Two have "graduated" and are now doing really well in their private elementary school. My third one is finishing his last year there. I could not be happier with the school. They have a reputatation for their academics and I can attest that my kids learned so much. More importantly, they learned while having fun. They were always excited to go to school and learned so much at such a young age through not just the phonics or touch math programs but through music, on hands science room, in house events and field trips. The teachers and management have treated them with love and caring and it has been a very safe, warm second home for them. I could not recommend this school any more. May 15, 2011
