My son was not happy at this school. He would cry every morning when I would drop him off, and I noticed the kids in her class were pretty wild. Four or five months in, he began to have behavioral problems at home, and also came back using bad language. It's touted as Montessori, but it didn't appear that the teachers were experienced in applying the methods. Whenever I went to observe, there seemed to be a lot of problems with discipline in the class. In retrospect, this place is more focused on providing year-round 8am-5pm for the children of working parents than on the Montessori method. My advice is to steer clear if you want a genuine Montessori experience. We enrolled my son at Villa Montessori in Cupertino the next year and he was much, much happier. He was excited to go to school and halfway through, has learned so much. And the behavioral issues disappeared as well.
My kid thrived at this school. He learned a lot, but more importantly, he became very independent and self directed. They have a very positive way of disciplining kids and maintain a great environment for kids to work. Learning is a process of discovery and fun here. His teachers were very loving and outgoing. One negative is that there is not much diversity in the classroom.
I heard good reviews of this school, but was very unhappy with diversity in the school. Living in a culturally diverse bayare I would like my child to grow up in a naturally diverse environment.
The school is clean and have good actvities for the kids.
It is definitely a top school... variety of programs... parents not as involved as montessori leans toward children's independence.
Good music, art and sports programs.
Excellent academic program for preschoolers and kidergardeners. Lots of extracurricular activities through other organizations.
My son starts at this school when he was 2 1/2 years old. This school provides a clean and organized enviroment. The teachers discpline the children in a way that they learn what is right and wrong. The program is very balanced on academic and fun. My son learns things every day, and still eager to learn when he gets home. The school also provides other activities (art class, keyboard class, chinese class) at additional cost. But if you like you kids to explore more, it is good to have it all in one location. I highly recommend this school.
Appleseed is a non-traditional Montessori school. At the newer Sunnyvale campus, the classrooms are mixed age, with the majority of the age of 2 yrs old, many still in diapers. The program varies teacher-to-teacher and classroom-to-classroom.
