Santa Margarita Children's Center

We love Santa Margarita Childrens Center. I found it when we moved to Terra Linda with my then 3 year old boy who seemed ready for preschool. I did not know anything about but after a tour with Arleen, the Director, I could tell she ran a very loving supportive school. My son, who at the time was painfully shy immediately warmed up to her and the school itself. At 3 he was fighting potty training though he was physically ready. The staff were encouraging and patient and one reason why he was trained so fast once he started there. They let him do things at his own pace which is great. I believe they are in process of becoming NAEYC accreddited which means they are held to a pretty high standard not just in terms of the curriculum but every little detail of how the place operates.

SMCC is wonderful preschool program. Our son has been encouraged to play well with others, respect elders, and maintain personal hygiene. The teachers at the school are very dedicated to the children and parents. They take the time to keep our busy, working-parent family up to date on progress and areas of development that we should work on with our son. We will miss Ms. A. when we leave for kindergarten next year. Due to the teachers attention, our son will be well prepared.

Amazing program! My daughter loves it. Wonderful, dedicated teachers, extensive enrichment programs. The playground is park-like, the classrooms are gorgeous. Lots of pets, big garden.

Caring school with lots of extra curricular opportunities. Field trips too. Multi-age approach.

Love this school! Both of my children have attended - one is now in Kindergarten and the other is still there. They have a wonderful, culturally diverse environment. My favorite aspects are the summer pool trips twice a week and the trip to the symphony for the pre-k kids!
