Montessori School of Central Marin

I've been so satisfied with our experience at Montessori of Central Marin. First and foremost, the school's director and her stellar staff are the school's best resource. The staff is well educated, professional and loving but, most importantly, the children are well cared for and happy. My child is enrolled in the bilingual program and I've been so impressed with how much he has learned over the course of a year - everything from the alphabet, numbers and mathematics to Spanish language, social skills and music - all in a fun and exciting way. The school is also rich in diversity and offers many opportunities for cross cultural education and celebration. The physical space is well maintained and clean. There is ample outdoor space with a playground and even a garden. Montessori of Central Marin is an understated gem in Marin and I truly couldn't be more satisfied with our choice of preschool.

I previously rote the review on April 8, 2011. I would like to amend that posting in order to be fair to anyone reading the reviews. After a meeting with the administrator, called by the administrator, I am feeling a bit more confident and comfortable with my son's care at the school. There are personality differences that have led to misunderstandings on both of our parts and we have acknowledged that with a commitment to continued efforts at better communication. I do have the health concern for my son and will continue to monitor that but, again, I feel that we are on the same page. 3 1/2 stars would have fit but, am giving the 4 stars because credit has to be given where it is due and I greatly appreciate the conversation that I shared with the director and how we plan to move forward.

The thoughtfulness and caring of the teachers sets this wonderful pre-school apart from so many others to choose from. Each child feels welcome, secure and cared for while they take their first steps in such important tasks - learning, sharing, communicating, listening. We have loved this school for our two sons, I highly recommend it!
