Centennial has had an incredible impact on the development of my children. We will be forever grateful for the staff, level of education, and emotional development we have experienced at our school. Our experience as surpassed expectations, and our children are far above the area public school guidelines. There is a high level of multicultural education, music, and language. Celebrating these as well as multicultural celebrations has opened up the perspective that the children have about the world. This school has high standards of education, and it is a loving family environment that is respectful of children and their processes. The staff is compassionate, and have met all of my concerns immediately. I am sure that you will enjoy a school tour and an observation. I will always recommend this school to anyone who is looking to place their child in an exceptional environment!
My son is in his third year at Centennial. Not only he, but my whole family, have benefited enormously by the wealth of knowledge, experience and loving care received at CMS. I feel like a better parent having had this wonderful community in our lives. My son emerges ready for elementary school with a true love of learning. what more can you ask from a preschool?
As parents we have been very lucky to have found Centennial for our two boys. We looked extensively at schools without finding one that would work for us. A chance encounter introduced us to Centennial and over the last year and a half, our son has grown and blossomed with the school. Centennial is a very professionally run school, with such integrity to the betterment of us all as humans. And we can absolutely see this in our son. Not only has his natural curiousity for everything been stimulated, but he has become an independent, confident, respectful little boy in large part because of the mutual respect he gets from teachers and children at school. As parents we have learned a lot as well. They take the time to answer questions no matter how inconsequential. We strongly recommend this school and can't wait for our youngest son to start in the Fall.
We have been at Centennial for one year now and the experience has been very good. Our goal was to find an excellent montessori program, and that is definitely what we have found. The community is very small, which has its positives and negatives. The director and teachers are wonderful and loving. The language program is a nice little bonus, but as the director has always said, it is not an opportunity to learn another language, it really is a few words and songs here and there, which is great for us. All in all, we are a very happy Centennial montessori.
our family has been at centennial for two years. i can't say enough about the loving, caring and nurturing staff at this school. my child has had trouble with separation from me - but the staff established a warm, loving connection that made transition smooth. i am impressed with the caliber of teaching and integrity of the owner and all staff. quality of the ami program and staff are top notch.
When I first toured at Centennial, I was immediately in love with the physical environment. It was open, warm and extremely welcoming. I was also very excited about the language program and the high standards of the teachers. However, I have been extremely disappointed. The language program is not well implemented and seem to be part of the program as an attraction. The teachers do not live up to the AMI standard. This school is run more like a business so I would be very cautious about the administration. They can be extremely persuasive and misleading.
enriching environment, caring teachers - overall fantastic!
our family has been at centennial for the past 2 years. while we chose this school for the quality of the montessori program (and love it!) - i wanted to provide our experience with the language program. from the very start, we were informed that the foreign lang component is not designed to result in children who are fluent in those languages. Rather, it is available to expose my child to hear other languages in a natural setting (i.e. the teacher of that language only speaks to the children in the particular language). group activities are conducted with small groups of children in mandarin/spanish. but the goal of the school is not a foreign language immersion program where children come out fluent in the foreign language. while every child learns at a different pace, our child has learned phrases/sings songs in mandarin & spanish.
my comment is in reference to the preschool program. i think this school has the potential to be a good school but it is still going through its growing pains. the 'foreign language program' is extremely misleading. we came to this school because of the spanish/mandarin component and have been hugely let down. the foreign language curriculum doesn't seem to be thoughtfully planned out and it is not being effectively implemented in a montessori setting. other than exposure to a few words, my child did not learn nor pick up on the foreign language. the constant turnover of teachers didn't help either. personal experience with the administrator has at times been unprofessional and very inappropriate.
Our daughter started in the toddler program last fall, and i have nothing but great things to say about this school. the teachers seem engaged and really love working with kids. she looks forward to school every day we go, and chats each evening about all her 'work'. i am new to the montessori philosophy, but so far i am sold on the approach.
